I think any organization which continually solicits money from members of our hobby should be able to let everyone know exactly what they are getting for their "donations", be they one time or yearly. And they should know exactly what TWI/ASN is doing for dart frogs conservation, because they continually state they are not a hobby organization, and not geared toward moving the hobby forward.
The one major (THE major) benefit of ASN to the dart frog hobby would be managing our frogs with the information we all have. This is not happening, for years now .
A helpful hint would be to give a job to anyone volunteering. Even if there were not the constant excuses bandied about that TWI/ASN is a volunteer group and things move slow, which there are . Get more volunteers, because whatever is holding up forward progress in the current volunteer barrage of four different "counsels" and one "board" is not cutting it for those concerned about dart conservation and the dart hobby in and of itself.
If someone says "I can help" trust them until proven other-wise.
When anybody , be it non-for or other-wise is continually asking for money but turning away free help, and there are constant and continual valid complaints about issues which the body has addressed year after year, it's past time to re-think what's going wrong.
Stop collecting fees from people until most are singing your praises. I'd be embarrassed if I had years of back work and still collected money. And, I don't care is it's $10 or $100,000 . Run a fund drive like PBS and let our hobbyists vote with their wallets. The excuse that it's a fledgling organization is old and refusing to utilize new volunteers is past old.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.
If tone is more important to you than content, you are at the wrong place.
