So I was watching the monsoon rainstorm we are having in N.J and was wondering about using rainwater in my vivarium.
I'm sure I would active carbon filter it.
What is everyone's thoughts on it?

I know my flowers beds and vegetable gardens do much better whn being watered by natural rain then by the garden hose. I might think it would be a good thing if collected straight from the air(not off a roof) and if you are not in a big city or living near a big highway/factory/or other type of pollutant increaser.

I have been using rain water for the last 10 years and have not had any problems. I have spent many hours researching the different water being used in the hobby. I found that rain water was the accepted water in the beginning of the hobby. I have also read that a study had been done on the east coast testing rain water and that they found it contained pesticides. I have not found any study that has been done in my area but it is making me consider switching to RO water.

I wouldn't use it in an area near a city... all kinds of stuff in there. Could potentially build up in the habitat.
