My Top 10 'Scary' Horror flicks
#1
Keep in mind, I'm a little 'old school'....I like paranormal activity a lot, or should I say..don't like....but I digress. Here's my list.

as a countdown from 10 to 1:

10. The Mist. Alright, not so much scary or abject terror, but how about the humanity ! Trapped in a panic, humans become their own monsters.

9.Candyman (bear with me on this...the SCORE ! Scariest music in a film!)

8.Invasion of the Body snatchers - Who is real and who isn't and WHY do those plant aliens make that god awful hollow scream sound !?!

7.Alien - it ain't a sci-fi movie. It's a right proper Horror Genre flick

6.Jaws- again, it's a True horror film...just because it's a fat shark and not a demon or something, doesn't make it any less frightening.

5.Ju-on - or even that Sarah michelle Geller film. Creepy Japanese ghost story and they sure know all about how to portray ghosts, let me tell ya.

4.Event Horizon - What's worse than a Haunted Spaceship ? A haunted Spaceship that's gone to Hell and back and killed its crew and want's to kill you.

3.The Howling - O.G Werewolf film back in the 80's without that C.G animated shit. Those werewolves actually changed....blood bladders and inflatables making the skin move. F'in' creepy.

2.The Shining- The Hotel wants to kill you and you can't escape.

and number one is:

1.The Exorcist (original with Crab Walk) - Young Regan tells you what your mother does after she's passed on and you DON'T want to know what it is.

Happy Halloween Everyone. It's my favourite Holiday

I'd agree with most of that. I'd have to put The Omen on mine, and Angel Heart (not really that good, just struck me right the first time I saw it.)

So are you watching American Horror Story this season? It's busy ticking off most of the "60's drive-in horror flick" boxes...

I like a lot of movies on Phil's list. Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a very well done movie, still very creepy to this day.
I'd have to add Rosemary's Baby to this list.
Has anyone every watched "The Fourth Kind" with Milla Jovovich? She plays a psychologist who stumbles upon ailen abductions...based on a true story. Here's the interesting thing, the film is half theatrical and half REAL video tapes from the actual sessions with patients from the psychologist she portrays in the movie. Pretty damn freaky movie.

I don't know if you would consider it scary but dee snider made a movie. it all these people being tortured in his cellar. had a naked woman in an iron maden. he had all sorts of tribal type tatooes. sorry but I saw parts of it and don't know the name. I guess this would of been of an aduction type movie.

I will just do top five....

5. Leviathan -- This movie freaked me out especial as a kid growing up in the 80's and living in the DC area. Cold war going strong. Yeah the "hot zone" in Reston was less than 10 minutes from where I grew up.
4. Alien -- Yeah, Giger is one messed up guy. Anything that guy creates is scary as hell.
3. The Road -- Wholly shit, I don't even like thinking about this movie. I never ever want to be in this guys shoes.
2. The Thing -- by this point you should, be getting the hint I don't like Aliens
1. Aliens -- Up until this movie, I would always watch people walk back into a house unarmed after seeing blood all over the place yelling for their friend. Yeah fuk that! Get in the car drive far far away. Then call 911. typical horror movie.
These guys had m41a pulse rifles, m56 smart guns. (yes I know they aren't real) but they were space marines and they had to go into a nasty area to get a job done. So they were heavily armed and these ... Things just tore them all new assholes. Then they get stranded on that planet.

I just watched Grave Encounters the other night. Never heard of it before, but it was on Showtime and decided to watch. For some reason, it freaked me the Hell out!

Indeed! I lived near Pittsburgh for a few years...ground zero for Romero's zombies, the Monroeville Mall and Tom Savini.
