"seeding" a tank with Springtails
#1
Hello!

Just a question about adding a culture of springtails to my tank: Do you continue to feed the springtails? Adding dry pasta or cucumber peels to the tank itself? My thought was that adding rice or pasta may not be a good idea because a frog may see it as a potential food source and choke... Will the springtails find enough to eat in the tank on their own?

No need to feed them once put in a tank. They will find decaying matter, poop and mold to feed on

Thanks! I figured as much... Actually, I'm wondering if I already HAVE a small colony of Springtails (or something similar)... There are tiny, tiny insects congregating around some mold on a piece of driftwood... And so far I've not intentionally added any insects to the tank...
