To much light?

Can you have to much light over your tank?

I have a CF light that was used over a planted freshwater tank. It is 24" long and has 2 65 watt CFs, each 6700K. It did real well in a planted aquarium, but I'm wondering if it would be to much light for dart frogs?

I'm planning on setting up a 20 high for a pair of azureus.

The light has two cooling fans, and mounts on top of the tank with legs, so it doesn't sit directly on the top (air can move between it and the top glass cover).

I looked through the other posts, but couldn't find my answer. I know most of the plants and the frogs don't like really bright light, but I was thinking that there might be some plants to do like the brighter light, and would shade the frogs below.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Hi Brian,
Welcome.
I would say that will be too much light. The Darts do not need light and most plants that do well with Darts do not need anywhere near that much light. Just not that bright light on the jungle floor.
I have found one watt per gal is more than enough.
