Hola, from LongIsland NY
#1
Hello, Everyone and the first thing,I would like to say is THANK YOU for the great information, advice and pics that
Everyone has posted. Ive been following Dart Den for a while before i joined. My name is David Morales (coqui) and I live in LongIsland NY. I'm a family man with 3 grown children.
My first experience with frogs were Coquis from Puerto Rico. I love the sound they make when they call. I no longer keep Coquis but I will never give up the darts. My other hobby is Reef keeping.

Hi David and Welcome to Dart Den !

You're going to find that 80% or more of us were / are Reefers. I had a nice 100 gallon Live Rock tank back in the late 90's and I'll get another one someday.

Coquis enmass are very loud. You say you like them, but have you ever lived near them? Hawaii considers them supreme noise pollution. We have them established in the Miami area and a couple years ago, during the wet season, you could hear them clear WHILE driving with the windows up and the A/C on and the Radio bumping - they are that loud.

Hello Phil,
Thank you for welcoming me. Hope you get back
Into the reef hobby. You will find out that the industry
Has come a long way in improving the hobby. Much more
Knowledge in the supplements we use and some of equipment
Has dramatically changed.
Yes, I understand that Hawaii classifies the Coqui as an
Invasive species and they try to eradicate them unsuccessfully.
However, growing up my family and I would spend the summers
In Puerto Rico where the Coquis are native. So, yes to answer your
Question if I ever lived with a large population of Coquis. I've always
Enjoyed their calling and as I got older and visited PR I decided to
Bring back some with me. Rumors were that they would not live in a
Captive environment. Well I proved them wrong and enjoyed their calling
In New York. A piece of PR. 3000 miles away. LoL

Love your Reef tank! It brings back many memories. I was a reefer for some 25+ years.
