Yea, I feel bad for my pair because their Viv is very basic and kinda small. I'm going to pick up and 24" tall enclosure for which ever f1s I decide on holding back just so they can do as much climbing that they would like.

One thing I do to get breeding action going is take a male from another pair and put it in the viv of the pair you want to breed. Do it at night just before lights out in the viv. The next morning the two males should calling and wrestling remove the male you put in the night before. This tends to put the male in an aggressive breeding mood and spurs breeding within a short period of time.

Thanks Tom! I have a plan in motion for some collection moves that should free up some viv space and shake things up a bit. In the meantime since I have a 3.2 I can move around a male in the short term as well (probably one eyed Jack...thinking his name should be Bauer - he seems like a badass).

LOL...no. I'm going to clear out the 120 and prep it for the 5 Robertus to shake things up. Should be a few weeks to get it where I want it.

lol no, it's actually quite deliberate. Despite my high post count, I don't share a lot of my overall collection management plans as I am formulating them. This is part of a broader collection reshuffle that is attempting to better fit the frog to the viv and temperature variations in the house. My comment about "a few weeks" emcompassed vivarium changes that are underway (not just Robertus housing, but multiple morphs). I did not want to shift them from their current situation until I was ready to make their "final" move that fit into my overall plan.

I discussed this move about four months ago with Glenn when I picked up the 2.1, but I shelved it. I'm now making broader changes in my collection, so now the move makes sense. I've had the 1.1 in my care for about 7 months, and the 2.1 for about 5 months. Though they are doing well in their 18x18x24 exo's, but they are big frogs that like to climb, and I'd like to provide them with a lot more space now that they're better acclimated, hence the move to the 120. This also provides them with the ability to interact and breed as they see fit. Overall I see it as a good long term fit, hence the move that I'm building toward.

The 1.1 dropped 11 - likely last weekend while I was working in the yard :lol:. No change in anything I was doing...with the exception of cutting back on their feedings in the last month or so. I'm tending to the Robertus and Lorenzo clutches now...and three more Lorenzo tads OOW...a good night

They deposited on the viv floor under a cocohut on magnolia leaves (see the cocohut on the right in the picture below). They picked a moist deposition area - the other cocohut is on the drier side of the viv. They roost up at the top of the viv, but they have ignored the petri dishes I have set out up top for them. I'll likely just pull those other dishes now that they have picked a spot. I still think they are dropping clutches in the back of the viv where I cannot get to them but we'll see. Exciting times.

Good luck! You should post some pictures of your pair - I'm really curious to see how variable the offspring are. The pair that deposited the eggs are high yellow.

Awesome man, congrats!! Finally man I'm so excited for ya. Judging by the progress of those eggs I'd say they are 5 days to a week old. Very good man, a clutch of 11 that is so awesome. Now that you pulled those you might find another clutch within the next few days.

I heard calling from the back corner of the viv today, so they may be at it again. Unfortunately I think they are depositing in two nooks in the back behind some cork rounds that I can't get to, so they'll be on their own. In the meantime I get to keep an eye on this clutch

Haha! They are still in their 18x18x24 - there's just a cool 6" cork round in there that is stood upright (which I cannot get behind - good frog design, crappy egg hunting design) and I think they were laying behind it for a while. They seem to now like this coco hut as the canopy grew in. We'll see. The other group isn't doing anything yet.

I'm slowly getting around to the 120 renovation. I have some new cork that I needed to redo the false bottom so I can get moving with that adjustments there. I am still figuring out the shifts, but I think I'm still going to move forward with the move since I'd really like to see these big frogs in the 120 (rather than explaining to people, "no there really are 8 adult red galacts in there and at least three froglets"....). The Robertus just seem cramped in the 30.
