I think her nose rub is getting better as well - I have not been tending to it at all. The SSD I have is a cream with the consistency of Neosporin. I was catching her to apply it earlier but I gave up on that. I have been thinking about using a swab and trying to apply it while she is feeding, but it seems to be getting better on its own so I'm going to continue monitoring for now.

She is really putting away the flies! So is he for that matter. She likes hanging out at the top of the viv. Most of the flies climb that big cork bark round and hang in the top of the viv so she scores up some easy meals up there. But tincs don't climb right?

She does seem to have a bit of an attitude. Similar to my azureus. None of them care when I poke my head near the viv...they just stare back. Always reminds me of the picture from David Thorne's bit (scroll to the bottom).

Heh it's been a while...been tending to frog chores cleaning vivs, caring for Lorenzo tads and culturing flies...these robertus plus a drop in hydei production forced me to double my melanogaster culture count :!: . They basically have two cultures per week dedicated to themselves. I added a bean beetle culture this week (thanks Jay @ SA!) and hopefully in a few weeks I'll have it split and going. Got a chance to chat up Jay and Doug for a good hour and a half. Have to catch you next time Damien!

She's filling out and looking good. They seem to be a pair. They spend a lot of time around each other. They are quite bold; they are out every time I walk by the viv, either right out front on the floor of the viv or up on top of that cork round. When they get nervous they scamper up that cork round and stay up high which is interesting.

I would get kicked out of the house if I tried to bring in termites or roaches. There are limits to tolerances for my hobby addiction.

Just melanogaster and hydei right now. I picked up a fresh bean beetle culture that should get me started in the next few weeks. I hope to have them in place by the end of August so I can roll back my fly culturing. I increased from 8 to 12 cultures per week when I picked up the Robertus. I did offer wax worms but they were not interested. I was considering offering maggots but she put weight on so quickly with a steady diet of flies that I held off. I was getting concerned with putting too much weight on too quickly.

I have been feeding twice a day with smaller meals rotating between hydei / golden hydei and melanogaster. They are primarily taking melanogaster now as my hydei production has dropped. I slowly ramped up the meal sizes and they are now eating two rather large meals per day. About half a teaspoon per meal. I'll drop back to one feeding per day soon - I think her weight looks good now.

I was laughing about my culture counts with Doug - he keeps mostly thumbs - 17 species supported by 7 cultures per week. I keep tincs and Galacts - 6 morphs/species with 12 cultures per week. Big frogs. Big appetites lol. And my collection is small. Glenn I feel for yah.

Not much of an update. The female is still filling out. I've installed their vented hood and lighting and got them on the misting system. They continue to eat well. The female is just annihilating flies every day. Here are a few shots...first up, the male:

Speaking of the top vent, here's their new fixture...I iterated on the design a bit - mostly on the rear panel that is not pictured. The changes made for a tighter fit around the lip:

Did some cleaning in their viv yesterday and added more cuttings. This will be a selaginella and pilea dominated viv - these two are active climbers and given their size I doubt I will be able to maintain any of the perperomia or begonias I normally keep. Here are some updated shots before feeding - they pork out even more after a meal

The female seems to ignore smaller prey items. The male will spend hours rooting around the vivarium knocking down the springtail population - she seems to just wait for the red solo cup food bucket to show up...

She is looking better each week Phil! I am glad the nose is healing up - I was not expecting it to color up again. She's putting on weight and looking great. She's been pestering the male this week but he's not showing interest yet.

If his toe pads were not so giant I'd start to suspect that he is a she :lol: - he's definitely benefiting from the extra feedings. He porks out on flies and wades into the pool to pick off springtails...this is him just after a big meal:
