WC Male and F1 Female Nancies -what to call their offspring?
#1
I found a little Nancy hopping around today. Dad was a WC , Mom an F1.
What do we call the offspring???

I am guessing F2?

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

I would say F1 because its the first in a "line". When i first left college I remeber a scientist telling me that when 2 seperate lines come together the off spring are F1 I could be wrong tho

From what I have gathered from others that actually know quite a bit more than I do about it, I would say F1 also. There have been discussions with other species about this, and the final verdict is like what PGB said. When you cross two new blood lines, they are F1's.

Congrats again, by the way!!!

Thanks again guys,
What happens when the female was a product of the male? Not exactly two different lines.
F1.5?

I have a similar breeding situation. The cb male though is not a product of its current mate. It has paired up with a WC left over female. I have another 4 full grown females(2wc an 2cb) and im hoping about 4 male male juvie froglets. I will be holding them all back to pair up.
I was very happy to see my cbs producing healthy eggs. I cant wait to see the next generation. My favorite part of imported frogs, is how fresh the bloodline is. I can probably build a huge population with only my small collection of 6 WCs. Now if i only knew where the hell they were from. Rich i still want more from you on the new imports. i figured you had a rant all ready to go, did i miss it somewhere. Or are you indifferent due to lack of locale info.

Hey Jace,
I am going to refrain from rants about the new shipments for a bit.
It would be nice to know where they are all from. A code name would suffice though.

(sorry to highjack thread but usually only one thread at a time here, i just go with that topic)
So its my understanding, that we dont even know which frogs should pair up. how many different morphs came, which is in which morph. The people breeding them cant know more than us. I suppose im really in the dark, but as far ive gathered we could be really stifling the genetic variations of one largely variant population.

The ones that have bred were matched up to pattern/color as best as those that did it could. I've seen one of the pairs in a picture, and they are practically identical. Doesn't mean its the safest route, but at LEAST they didn't mitch match.

Supposedly someone is attempting to get collection data, but its highly doubtful.
