Nano Vivs
#1
I have read a couple posts on nano vivs and feel the need to discuss this new "trend".
I can find zero benefit to having 2.5 gal vivs or less ( they should start around ten gal), used as a permanent enclosures. This trend to scale down has bad news written all over it. This is not salt.
Thoughts?

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

I agree. I think people initially are interested in them because they take up less space, but if you don't have the space to properly house your animals, then you really shouldn't be keeping them at all until you can provide them with proper habitats.

Someone just recently posted on this subject elsewhere. Their idea was not to have frogs in them, just a mini plant habitat. I think it would get too crowded quickly, but thats just my opinion.

Yea I agree that nano is not the way to go in this hobby. A ten gallon doesnt take up a lot of space, I dont really see the point of going with a 2.5g.
