What species for a 42" x 18" x 18" Exo Terra
#1
Hi. New to the hobby and was wondering what would be the best species to keep a pair or trio in the Exo Terra? I want a large pool also with some placid amazonian fish, such as tetras. Is this advisable? Would it be a good idea to use a water heater ( would this raise overall temperature?) Thanks in advance.

In your first post you commented that "You have to post 2 replies before starting a new post." This is an effort to deter spammers. Especially automated ones.

I did not think they made exo-terras 42" long. Though I have seen a picture of a 36".

A 42"X18"X18" would be almost 60 gallons. Any pair would do well in that size. Any frogs that do well in groups would do well in a group of 4 to 6 in that sized enclosure. Some frogs that do well in groups are Leucs, Auratus, Galacts, Terribis, Imitators, and Bi-colors. This is not a complete list, but is a good starting point.

I'm sorry I meant 24" not 42, but thanks for replying so quickly. Now that that's fixed what would you recommend. I'm a beginner, but I have kept reef tanks for over 5 years, so I'm dedicated. I'm quite good with raising live food ( exp. from the reef). Thanks.

Can't go wrong with a couple of leucomelas or auratus.

If you keep pools of water in your vivarium, do you need to supplement it with some sort of amazon water conditioner? And is it safe to keep darts with pools? Thanx.
