Fogger or misting?

Hi, I am thinking of setting up a viv but am not sure what's needed with regards to the above, I always thought you needed to mist to keep the frogs and plants moist but I now read that its to clean the plants. The reason I ask is that I thought it would be nice to have a fogger which would look good and alos keep things moist thus not needing to mist by hand each day......

Is that a possibility or will I have to mis teven if I buy a fogger?

Foggers and misting serve two different purposes.
Foggers are to increase the humidity, and for aesthetics. They do very little in the way of 'rinsing' the environment.
Misters, or hand misting will also help to increase the humidity, but more importantly it will rinse the plant, background, wood, etc. flushing debris and fecal matter to the substrate where it will be broken down.

Also, be sure to make the fogger safe for your frogs if you get a cheap one like I did---the kind that heats the water with ultrasonics. You will need to isolate it in its own container to prevent frogs getting injured from direct contact with it---this should be a permanent setup as part of the tank.

One method of doing this is to get a narrow, tall bottle, insert the fogger and water to the appropriate level, cover the top with screen so the frogs cannot fall inside and punch small holes in the side for the fog to escape. This setup can be obscured by wood when you set up the tank so it won't be unsightly.

However, for the more expensive brands like ProMist---

It is easy to modify and plumb into the tank.


As for misting, a misting system for your size of tank is really overkill.

If you are so inclined to have a misting system this system from Vivaria would be all that you need.
