"Rescuing" Frogs = DOOMING THOSE THAT FOLLOW

I think it is VERY important to point out that for those of you who belive they are "rescuing" pet shop frogs too skinny/in bad condition/mixed/whatever , you are prompting the shop owners to replace those "rescued" frogs with others doomed to the same fate. Do not patronize pet shops with horrid conditions. Do not patronize supply houses that know nothing about the frogs they sell. Giving $ to business people who practise these awful business dealings does nothing but perpetuate a circle of abuse. Those poor devils may die, but they may also be the last ones brought in by less than ethical dealers. Do not buy from, or even accept frogs from these businesses.

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Go to " Kingsnake.com " and find the "upcoming shows" section.

there should be some decent Reptile shows in O-hi-O

BTW, even though they are listed as "Reptile shows"....they almost always have dart frogs and other amphibians at them.

It does deserve a bump.

Remember the ones that I got? At least they are thickening up and doing well. Still won't go back to that pet shop.

Went to another one today--frickin little pet shop of horrors

20 high on its side. 6 frogs. 2 adult blue auratus, 2 citronella tincs and 2 leucs. There is no way that the tincs and the leucs were more than a month older than morph. One of the tincs even looked to have SLS. Prices?

Tincs--$79
Auratus--$120
Leucs--$92

I went to talk to the guy working there, began by asking him where in the world he was able to get frogs so young... He told me this was the third batch that they had, then he got kinda nervous and left. So did we.

Who the heck is buying these???

Won't be back there either.

Does ANYONE have a DECENT shop in Utah?

Does anyone know any good breeders in Utah? Specifically Salt Lake to Provo area?
-Michael
