For some time now I have seen a label of "darklands" slapped on blue pumilio. For the record, there are three (at least) "morphs/locals" in the hobby of blue Panama pumilio that look similar. There are Esperanza, which can have red and blue in them or be all blue. There are Caucheros which are usually all blue and are quite a bit larger than Darklands. And there are Darklands, which are all blue, sometimes with spotting or a bronze hue at times.
The line of true Darklands I work with are the only absolute site specific confirmed Darklands I know of in the hobby. If you are working with other lines they are quite possibly (probably) Caucheros. I can not keep track of every line in the country , but when obtaining info from breeders like Tuss (Tuss agrees ours should not be mixed) , it is evident from consistent larger sizes, and lack of true site local, that the majority of blue pums in the country are in fact Caucheros.
One of the reasons I bring this up is the fact that it may not be a wise thing to breed so-and-so's "darkalnds" with my true site local Darklands.
When in doubt , ask specifically where they came from and how the seller knows they are "darklands". If the answer is "I was told they were darklands, but have zero site data", ask for sizes of all adult breeders. Darklands average a good 10-15% smaller than Caucheros.

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.
