Online Fantasy Hockey league - Teams available !

Here's another online hobby of mine - Fantasy Hockey, well actually it's more preciscely a SIM. And it's totally FREE.

My buddy designed it, coded it and runs it. The online Forum is a lot like this one and very fun. What's nice about this league is that it can run very effectively on autopilot, or you can get in there and be the active GM - Trade players. He runs it truly as a labour of love for the game...and he's not too shabby with the coding either.

You can even "coach" and roll line combinations and change out Goalies.

I am having a great time with it, as the GM and Coach of the "Cornwall Crusaders"

Have a look and even email the Commish to pick up one of the 3-4 available teams.

If you or anyone you know may be interested....this is a fun, EASY...not demanding...simulation game. Not a true fantasy league. It is 100 times more fun than a one dimensional fantasy league.

Hey Phil - I already name dropped you.

I think Moncton has the better team right now, but Montreal will be more of a challenge. Being Habs fan IRL tips the balace a bit too.

Can't wait for the freakin' season to start - the offsesaon is too long!

You can rename your team...change colours or uniforms and just aboot everything else you can think of.

Your team is a little weak in the defense dept - you ideally want defenders with a def rating of close to 40

but you have very good tenders - Price and Giggy. Feel free to PM me with questions and email Glenn again to get the keys to the office and start setting your lines.

This is a GREAT sim and you will have a ton o' fun...trust me. Once the games get rolling you can even go on auto pilot for a while - barring no injures. You can spend a lot of time with it...or a small amount. It's really unique.

I can attest that this is a great league so far. Easy to work with and a nice bunch of guys.

Glenn....that's the beauty of it....it can damn near run itself once you set the lines !

It can take almost NO time to do unless you get the odd injury ect and have to juggle lines but that really doesn't happen all that much.

Besides all of this years work is done basically. You can step in and take over the Sedin brothers and Moncton - easy peasy !

It's a LOT of fun...this league...and it's unique - a simulation more than a true fantasy league. We are going to have a DVR recorder so all the games can be played back for those who wish to watch all the codes / stats pop up - just like "Live" stats on the ESPN NHL feeds.

You have brought the Montreal franchise some decent respectability - prolly gonna be over 500 at season's end AND accumulating good pics for the draft. Good stuff.

I've had a run of injuries to my already weak defense, so I'm currently holding on for dear life and hoping I don't slip too far oot of the playoff race. Thanks though! It's been interesting so far and I'm looking forward to the trade deadline.

We would have two Glennies then and it would be too funny keeping them straight.

I'm happy with Cornwall....may have to put Pronger on the LTIR or buy his contact out and free up 8 million after the season.

Stay at home defensemen are hard to find and shot blockers of 9 or even 8. Tell me aboot it. I'm glad I got Visnovsky, Babchuck and Voynov. Russians and Czechs....meh...AND Bobrovsky.

Both Mikes' (afterdark) team - Montreal with goalie Price and MY team - Cornwall with Goalie Bobrovsky are gonna make the FHL playoffs and may even see a series together. Good stuff, that game of hockey.
