Want to hear LIVE Frog Calls ?
#1
Let's try the Dart / Frog Cam thing with a slightly different angle....

Want to hear a LIVE pumilio call?

How about:

Phyllobates vittatus ?

Epipedobates anthonyi ?

ALL can be heard - most VERY loudly as picked up thru my active microphone on the Dart Cam feature here on this site.

Sometimes I can hear 3-4 different male pumilio calling at once !

Remember, even though the Web camera is trained on the Epip viv, you can STILL hear a lot of other Dart Frog calls and species sounds from some of my other 30 odd vivariums in the frog room.

I think that is a GREAT idea...some people, like me, are undecided on which frog to get and some of the calls are really more appealing...terrific idea. It sort of intrigues me why people choose the frogs they do...I'm sorta leaning to the yellow terriblis, but could certainly change my mind..

Judy,

The Dart Den.com frog cam is "down" / non operational , since I dismantled my frog room in preparation to my move.

WHEN it was up and running, there were 3-4 pumilio, the epips and vittatus all calling away and picked up by the Camera's mic. It was a jungle for a while there.

The Cam and it's slave laptop and tripod are available if someone wants to borrow them and set em' up. Just shoot me a PM. It was a lot of fun and I'll put it back into full operation sometime in early 2012 from Florida.

Oh mine were not at all recorded....they were LIVE. LIVE streaming broadcast complete with me coughing and sneezing on the live / real time broadcast on occasion too.

as long as it was confined to the sneezing and coughing...if you get my....drift... Somehow I didn't pick up on the fact that it was streaming...no wonder you had to shut it down when you removed the frogs...

I would run a stream but with 3 kids, tv's and dogs it would not be very entertaining.
