Thank You,especially as we blatantly stole the design and made them from scratch,in a much cheaper way. In you post was one of the big reasons,....easy to clean.I might have said this here before but the lights bugged me bigstyle when i was little, and again this design sorted that,we look at vivs not squint at lights,i hope that doesn't sound in any way like a criticism of other racking styles, its not. These just do the job so well. In a way once you work with them you forget how well, you focus on the vivs,i think that's why so many like them because they are understated fulfill their function and don't draw attention,i suppose that's great design at its best,i just wish i could take credit for that, but i can't! But i did find a way for guys like Shaz and I not with a load of dollar but with the willingness to graft it out to have these.Essentially that's what most of our posts center on: that keeping these stunning frogs can be done on a tiny budget, maybe by going outside the box a bit,and taking longer to get there, but it CAN be done, with out costing the earth, and hopefully look as good as the guy whom is more fortunate.

Very nice Glenn. I need to finish framing in a door and then insulate and my room room in the basement will pretty much be finished. I need to get two more 48" racks also.

The "New" frog room will be in Gainesville Florida and will prolly consist of a single 48" black bakers rack and 2 lonely exoterras of Grannies....

Of course the tanks will be showcase / display tanks.....look for pics in 2012.

Importance of having a sink in or near the "frog room?" My frog room to be is in my basement and I have a sink close by to use. I also plan on making sure it is insulated and I will be putting up a vapor barrier plastic on the walls and running it down onto the floor and taping it down to help prevent any frogs from crawling under it.

I also think it is important to make sure you give yourself room for storage for supplies and for your feeders.

Deep basin plastic shop-Sink, spray attachment and really hot water...is what I would recommend.

Racks for drying plastic deli cups ect.

Maybe a cheap dish washer.

Guess I will chime in. Didn't read anything about electrical (maybe i missed it) - GFI outlet plugs - having "enough" outlets in accessible locations etc. timers , extension cords - making sure your electrical box can handle the juice if you living in an "older" house. Also spending cash on generator and AC backup (requires exhaust for Carbon monoxide).

Perhaps the biggest challenge - consensus from Spouse : )

If you got a big frog room...lotsa vivs.....and in a BASEMENT...

Make sure you get these little gems and peel-n-stick em to the bottom of each and every door. Not only insulates...

but more importantly...keeps these 'little' guys out

Found a second one of those ^^ this week. The first one 'froze' on me, allowing me time to get a paper towel. This time, it spazzed out and ran and I had to step on it with my bare tootsies. Confusedhock:

I also place a small upside down glass cup over every basement sink and bathtub drain.

Hello! I just signed up on dartden and I'm enjoying the site! This was the first thread that I started reading. It's a great thread, lots of good points!

I'm .....still..... in the process of my new build of 14 tanks. I've attached a few pictures. The only hold up has been waiting for some additional items to come in, which will be here this week! Big Grin

There are two more 24x18x24 exos missing from the build, which will complete it with 16 tanks.

Welcome to Dart Den !

Thank you! The vivs are awaiting tomorrows fedex shipment of leaf litter and the plants need to grow in a bunch. They have time before frogs get added though. =)

I like to let them have a month to get microfauna established. This makes plant cuttings much more appealing, giving them time to fill out a bit.

Quick question. I cant seem to find it in this post anywhere.

What do you guys recommend for the racks? I thought i saw something
once about a "Bakers Rack"?

I want something that will be capable of housing 3 18x18x24's per a shelf.

Yes yes, im starting to get more and more serious about darts >=)
