My vivs
#1
I haven't posted these here, but I have on "other sites".
I did some rescaping in the Azureus tank today to replace my asparagus fern. It started dropping needles a while ago, an din the last few days was looking really sad. I pulled it from the viv and stuck it in a pot.
My daughter and I found a mini african violet today at a local nursery, so after cleaning it it went into the spot the asparagus ferns were.
I have ordered some broms that should be here in a few days (Thanks JP!) and wanted some opinions on where I should go with them! The mint viv I planned on leaving "bromless". Does the 55 need more broms in it?

Anyhow, here are the pics! Let me know where you think broms would look good- I'm horrible with them!

Thanks guys Smile
Here's some of the viv's with some new broms I got through JP41-
Thank you LittleDip Smile

I got my new broms in, and they are awesome! (Thanks JP!)
Here's 4 of the 5 broms I got. I didn't get a pic of the leuc tank where I put one temporarily until I get some gorilla glue to perminatly put it somewhere.

The 55 with Neo. Cheers added to the upper right corner:

Imi tank with Neo. Hot Tamale added to right side near the top:

Frogless viv with Neo. Red Vulcan and Neo. Fireball added:

I moved the one brom pup from my 55 to the mint tank- but didn't get a pic of that either. My favoite broms have got to be the Red Vulcan and Neo. Cheers. I thought the tanks were good with broms, but I may have been wrong

Updated pictures of a few of the vivs, and "my" corner of the house!
Azureus viv- I am looking to replace the lemon button fern. It seems to be dying as well, so my substrate just may be too damp in that area for ferns to survive. It sends out bunches of runners, and I've removed at least 2 dozen offshoots in the past couple of months. The mother fern is loosing all it's fronds and turning brown in the center. Anyone have any ideas on what plant I could fill that space up with?

Mint viv- this one unfortunately gets a lot of reflections in photos-

Leuc Viv-

The 2 20gallon Long verts. The one on the left is the Imi's. Right one is still empty, and driving me nuts LOL.

They are growing out nicely ! When you have such nice growth, you know you have decent lighting / plant parameters.

VERY good looking (and well constructed) Vivariums. I'd be very proud of them !

Exactly what Phi said, very well planted and growing in nicely. Time to add some frogs to that other 20L vert.
Dendrobates, Phyllobates, Rantiomeya, Epipedobates

Thank you Phil and Don,
These vivs are certainly something I can say I'm happy I put together!

I get the feeling I'm going to be waiting quite some time to put frogs in the empty viv.
I would really like some Vanzolinii for that viv, and there's not a chance of getting them anytime soon!
So here I am waiting patiently!

Very nice!
You might try replacing the Lemon Button with
Nephrolepis exalta 'Suzi Wong'.
I like to place these about half way up the back wall. This will
allow them to cascade down as well as grow upwards, they get bushy.

Thank you for the suggestion Cindy! I hope to sell some plants off in the next week or so. That fern looks like perfect for what I want.

I wanted to add a comment about the lighting. My expensive t5 light gives me a lot of growth, but it is definately the one I fight with most over heat. My verts stay nice and cool- but the growth from the CFL's is great. I'm going to be replacing the undercabinet light over my mint viv with 2 cfl bulbs for better lighting.

Ugh- my "spare" viv is torn down to the background and false bottom. My plants all started dying and turning brown- when I started removing them I noticed 2 beetle type things with what looked like stingers in there. So the viv is bare now, and has been bleached. I'm guessing the bugs got in there through the gaps in the glass door- which I sealed with silicone on Saturday. Replanting will start tomorrow!
