Love me some Benedicta
#1
These guys are seriously becoming my favorite photograph subjects. Only editing I ever need to do is add a signature.

Sad that they get a bad rap for being shy...mine are rather bold. I can always spot one or two out in the open and if I really want to flush them out I turn on the misting system for 5 min. then they get really active! They really do appreciate a taller viv because of their climbing and suicide leaps trying to get to the misting nozzles. (I think grim's peninsula tank would be a great benedicta viv  )

Benedicta viv...still needs some growing in.

I didn't realize how much color the broms lost since under this crappy T8 lighting....I think its time for different bulbs.

I will never grow tired of these guys.... or their antics. (nope not stuck, swinging across the screen like it was monkey bars)

Damnit Micheal!!! Why you gotta make my frog decision so difficult lol Tongue

Amazing shots of amazing frogs. How many do you have in there, and what sex ratio? I can only make out 4 different patterns from the photos

I really am torn right now. I might have to put the red headed cherry on the bling cake and get me some of these guys. Its easy to see why people end up making +10 tanks haha. Good thing I made my tank large enough to accomodate pretty much anything I want. My mind keeps jumping around these days.

I only have a trio, no dicernable sex yet but I suspect possibly 2.1 After heavy rain two get really active and act just like any of my other male frogs minus the calling.

Great looking vivarium!
And love the frogs.
I'm really liking the T-5's.

I like the color I get on my T5's in the 75gal but they do get pretty hot. i don't think they would be a viable option for my racks. although i could probably get away with two bulbs instead of 4 T8's. I just got the crappy slyvania 6500k daylight bulbs. They seem to be detrimental to my brom coloring....

sounds like I need to make a post on the lighting thread Sad

Nice pictures!

I had some broms under 2 T12 shoplights with 6.5k's. I wouldn't say I lost any color but, I wouldn't say they colored up any more. By no means am I trying to insult your intelligence but, I had temperature problems back in our tiny apartment and a smallish 12in fan blowing over the bulbs reduced the bulb temp. by 40 degrees.

I'm glad to hear someone say that they're bold!

Fans are an option but a last resort....i really don't what 4 or more clip on fans buzzing in my living room especially while I am trying to make call recordings. That and i don't want the cost of adding 4 new T5 fixtures vs the $12 T8 fixtures i got at lowes.

I don't know why people don't use them more, but I have 6700k power compacts on all my tanks and the broms do great. Most of my broms get more color than when I first put them in. Heat is an issue, but is taken care of very easily with some small computer fans.

Dude, turn the fans off for a few mins while you record..lol....

Those clip fans and not that loud. They are my #2 or #3 MOST indespensible frog room item / tool.

Soon to appear on the "one important husbandry tool" thread. heh

I don't need them at this point, only if I upgrade to stronger lighting. My temps are perfect right now without them.

Not 100% on age but they got to be close to at least sub adult. They have grown quite a bit since I got them.
