I really can not pick a favorite, they all have their own artistic qualities to them. I do like what you did withthe rock work in the smurf viv.

I do the rock work in all the vivs. We get the odd froglet out of the water. Two days ago we got a Blue/Bronze froglet out of that tiny bit of water. No sls and no help from us.

Thanks. The only drawback to the water and rocks is I'm constantly pulling leaves out of the water. It's a bit of a pain, but looks ok when it's clean.

Excellent hardscaping Glenn.....your tiered effect is great use of rear space and provides the viewer with an elevated area for even more frog activity observation.

Your side hardscaping is great as well. So often overlooked and left bare glass. Some people don't like the "3 sided shadow box" look but I do. It gives us the ability to utilize more broms and plantings as well as added security and comfort for the animals.

And the large stones in the front water feature...very nice. Maximizes floor space while still having the water in play.

I prefer the 3 sided viv myself for the reasons you pointed out. They're still a work in progress. I have every intention of loading up the sides with Orchids. I need to install fans first. Orchids are going to cost a bit too.

Our reason for having the water up front in the first place was to reduce fly escapes. It does help, but we find so many other benefits to having it there. Seeing a froglet pop out onto land is just cool! Having tads swimming around in it adds to the display. The frogs also enjoy a soak once and a while too.

Ahh Glen ....an only a while back ya said to me, I'm never really happy with our vivs, well mate i know exactly what you mean as i feel the same way about ours ,but Sir they are very very cool vivs!! i love what you are doing with the backgrounds,all the steps and hollows,ha and the rocks,at the front are an inspired touch!!. By the way wish i was closer,i'd be on your waitng list for some of those frogs too. The blue /bronze auratus are the same as our super blues? Thats a gorgeous frog in your pics,how bold are yours Glen? Thanks for posting mate,really looking foward to seeing all this in your new racks ,gonna be a goodun mate

I believe they are referred to as Super Blues too. We didn't see them hardly at all, until they hit breeding age. As soon as they started breeding it was like a light switch went off and they bolded up like crazy. I can open the door and they stay put now. Before, I had to stay 6 feet away at feeding time to get a head count! Good things are worth waiting for It was a long haul for sure. They're just over 2 years old now, Stu.

I'm wondering if UE would ship straight to you? Can't hurt to ask.

Ours are understory frogs,Glen,but all imports to europe go through peruvian frog import,i have tried to mail him (PFI) but never get a responce so we get ours from a guy here that deals with him.But Mark Pepper has been really helpful to us,we actually were sold them as camos,there had been a mix up,Mark put us right.
One of ours is bold she is a big lass,i thought at first a male i would have swarn i heard her call...DOH..the other female is getting better,the male is super shy,up untill the last week we only ever saw him in a film can with a lady,but we are just catching him feeding now,as you say mate, worth waiting for.I don't know how old ours are but they were still growing when we got them back in april i guess around a year now. our summersi are also UE

Great looking vivs! What size are they?
I really like all of the steps and mounds youve created in there! I think that adds a lot more depth visually.
And the frogs are really cool! Great choices!
