"Tanked" Fish Tank building show on TV

It's a fun show. They do mostly high high high end custom tanks. Their clients are people that will shell out 35K on a quarantine tank and do not even pick out their own fish. I cannot imagine not caring enough to even select what fish are going to be stocked??

I love these types of shows where they show craftsmen making stuff from scratch. If I ever lose my job or my industry becomes obsolete I would seek out a trade skill job like these. They seem fun and enjoyable.

Pretty entertaining show. I think they kind of play it up for the camera, but they do some awesome work. With a lot of us coming from reef backgrounds, this show is right up our alley. Hopefully, this show stays on for awhile.

ATM isn't really a retail company. They mainly stick to high end custom acrylic tanks. They do great work on the inserts as well. Some of the stuff they do is really goofy as far as fish selection and introduction. They either add all those fish for show and remove them after or they lose a lot of fish. They built a tank in a church here in Dallas called IBOC. They show the tank in the opening shots. I highly recommend looking it up in google to see the tank pics. Quite unbelievable.

After watching last nights show I am wondering how they keep clients. Granted they make some interesting tanks but the amount of fish they add to some tanks is like putting 10 frogs in a 10 gallon tank. The jukebox tank was maybe 90 gallons with minimal filtration and it looked like they put in 30+ fish. Not to mention it looked like they dropped in 10 juvenile bangaii cardinal fish. For starters most bangaii that small are wild caught and have an extremely poor survival rate. Then add on that the males are extremly teritorial and will fight all other males to the death. Although the show is entertaining I think in the long run their methods may not be looked on as very knowledgeable.

This is TV, episodes have shown fish holding areas in their shop and they "brought" more in when the stingrays did not work. Remember, what you see is up to editing and producers. You have barely seen the work involved in actually putting together an acrylic tank. They very well could have a quarantine area and could remove fish after the original unveil but who knows. We are only allowed to see what airs unless someone whats to pony up the cash for a build in their house.

Edit: Given the current anti-pet trade climate I am bit shocked this show hit the air.

It is one of their top rated shows. I just don't know how long it can last, it is an expensive process. I would love to have them design and build me a tank for my Fly Rivers.

Yep, two housed with a nice school of assorted rainbow fish. I have a diverse collection mainly of Chelonia, Gekkonidae, and Amphibia. Slimming down a bit, but rarer species are not going anywhere.
