How do I choose!?
#1
Wow... I look and look and I can't narrow it down to a certain type! I have decided to get an 18 x 18 x 24 either Exo Terra or Zoo Med. And would like to have a trio.

I'm choosing from Leucs, Tincs, Azureus, & Auratus. Are there any info threads on the different types? For example, the m/f ratio, if they tend to be shy or bold, etc.?
I looked at the Species List board, but for the Dendrobates there are only posts 3 posts, One on 'Sky Blue" Tincs, and 2 on Auratus - Bronze & morph sizes.

If I remember right (my head is swirling with info  ) the Azureus are best kept to a pair not a trio?
Tincs are best 2:1, they tend to climb more than the others, have a louder call.

But I don't remember about Leucs or Auratus. What ratios for them?

Oye! Once I chose one, then I STILL have to settle on a morph!

What I get may depend on if I can find anyone in my area that has some for sale, I really would like to be able to see the frogs in person to choose... is that silly?

If I don't find any local, do frogs get shipped in winter?

Anyone in Central/Upstate New York area that is on the boards let me know! Even if you aren't selling frogs and can give me advise on viv arrangement, local supply places etc. it would be great to know!

You WILL find local frogs.

It's BEST to deal with local hobbyists - they will give you the best deals, service and "tech support".

Do a member search here for Aaron - Aaronsfrogfarm. He is upstate NY and he will know exactly who to advise you to go to.

Thanks Phil,

I PM'ed Aaron when you mentioned him, so I look forward very much to hearing from him. I see in searching online, that I came to the hobby just a little late, since he used to sell them Smile

No one's ever late to the party !

Even though Aaron is no longer in a business mode...he will still know of plenty of people near you - to recommend.
