Are all auratus which are blue and black the same morph? Iv'e seen everything from turquoise to smokey dark blue and I wonder if they are all the same frog. Anybody know ?
I was just wondering the same thing. Mine, I've wondered about. It has bi-lateral or vertical stripes down the sides wrapping up around the nose and his color is turquoise at the legs to almost a yellow/lime at the snout. his stripes are also not as soft or faded where the black meets the green, it's very bold and distinct. This brings up questions for finding a suitable mate w/o going back into his/her own blood line. (How do you sex auratus?)

Size and shape of body.
Females are generally larger and "plumper" ie. Pear body shape
Males are generally smaller and "slimmer"

Hey ya'll,
I spoke to Patrick Nabors at Saurian today, and he says that there are several distinct populations of blue and black Dendrobates auratus. I guess this means I'll not be mixing turquoise auratus with my smokey gunmetal blue auratus.
