Springtails sensitive to chemicals in water ?

Are springtails sensitive to chemicals in water ?

Tap water / Chlorine hinders production ?

RO water is used by some. Thoughts ?

I always avoided using tap water in my cultures. I was using distilled water in my spring cultures and getting pretty good production..decided to switch to spring water in one culture and have seen a marked increase in production. I can't be certain the switch made any difference, but it seems like it did. I use aged tap to mist the plants in my growouts and there are springs in those, but not huge populations.

^^ Yep...it'll be distilled water for my cultures from now on.... with some sort of additive to take the edge off.

I suspect Chlorine / Chlorimine is at work in ruining my cultures.
