Columnea Carnival not flowering?
#1
I've had my Columnea Carnival for about 2-3 months now and have seen no sign of flowering. I have them planted growing up the fake vines I made, but heard they prefer to cascade naturally. They are growing excellent however and have multiple new vines coming out of the original vine, and they also have nice red leaves so I figure my lighting is up to par. I heard they are supposed to flower alot and was just wondering what is going on here. Any tips or info is appreciated.

I don't have any in my vivs, but noticed the ones in my living room will usually bloom around spring or summer. Not sure if it's initiated by temp change or photoperied, though

Hi, I appreciate this is an older thread, but I'm new here, so am catching up! I've kept Columnea for a while, and they seem to be happier when pot-bound. In vivs, they seem to do fine with their rootball wrapped in moss (fairly tightly) with wire, I guess to mimic potboundness. Photoperiod and temp are constant year-round.

Hope this helps,

Martin
