Costa Rica -Absolutely NOT Closed to Commercial Dart Export
#1
The title says it all. I get tired of reading bad info put out in absolutes. So, CR is absolutey NOT closed to exports for $.
And UE is by far not the only avenue.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

There is a HUGE difference between CR being closed, and CR allowing the sale of CB darts for commercial export. The latter is true, the former a huge falsehood.
You see, actually captive breeding some of these darts takes a LONG time. And to do it legally, it takes a LONG time. Especially for folk not exactly known for producing lots of harder obligate egg-feeders to breed.
CR, unlike many other nations, does it right.

So, to answer your question, read post #3 again.

No problem. Potentially, any darts that can be captive bred can be exported.

Like many, I too have read and was under the impression that C.R. was closed to exports. Now you (Rich) are saying this is absolutely NOT the case. I have read through this thread multiple times trying to make sense of it...and can not seem to do so. Help me out here. Rich, are you saying that YOU can export frogs out of C.R. because YOU are "known for producing lots of harder obligate egg-feeders" or am I missing something here?

I'm saying , I didn't catch your name Random, that CR is not not closed to export of darts for commercial export. Fact.
I'm saying that a number of establishments in CR can export darts within strict guidelines and laws.
I'm also saying that ANYONE who those establishments choose to export to can legally import them with an importer's license.
I'm saying that frogs such are grannies, for one example, take a very long time to establish by those who have been doing it for a long time , let along the establishments in CR which have not.
Understand now?

Since you have many cr obligates then will you show us what the import permit looks like when they send you these frogs? It'd be really helpful to tell them apart from tarons recent cr frogs and make others aware. There has to be some sort of form or documents that come with legal exportation of these animals no?

What exact question do you have Adam? You think I'm pullking this out of my hat?
Here's a little to munch on before I dig out international law.
What does MP have that nobody else with an import license have?
What does BK have that other establishments don't have?
They must be the only ones in the world to be able to breed and export/import CR frogs, no?
Yes, I'll spend more of my time to prove I'm not just making a black and white bolded statement out of my ass. But, it'll be on my time, seeing how none of the mentioned activity has a rush order on it...

Or, how 'bout this? Since some have a direct line to both BK and MP, why don't they simply ask either if others are able to export darts, or if they are the only ones on Earth the CR gov. has deemed worthy of exports. This is not Panama where you get to buy rights to grab whatever you want, this is CR where you have to be an establishment which is at a grade equivalent with zoos, and such here which can accept confiscated smuggled animals.

Maybe MP can confimr this here? That would make things easier.

If and when I get frogs from CR they will all have actual paperwork from CR. And anyone and everyone is welcome to look at proof/paperwork.
And, I won't be stealing someone else's import permit and posting to others as you have done, and admitted to.
Go away troll, thief and liar.

Maybe I should ask one more very simple question.
If CR is closed to dart exports, why is BK breeding them for commercial export???

Hey Rich, I don't think Costa Rica is closed to EVERYONE. However, I don't think the majority of people could do it and in all reality they are CLOSED aside from certain individuals. Just like Colombia and Brazil.

Institutions and universities can get the proper paperwork in order for export though. Just as Brian K. does. But if he wasn't with CRARC I doubt he could.

If you have anything that says different, please let us know. But as far as I know, not just anyone can do it. Or perhaps anyone with a license can do it, but its very difficult to get one from the CR government?

You are correct, it is difficult to get permits. As I stated correctly.
But it is also 100% done already from others besides BK, and obviously , as stated, and proven, CR is absolutely NOT closed to commercial export (thread title) .
Anyone with an import license can import whatever those people can legally export from CR.

Has anyone/everyone read multiple times , in multiple places, from multiple people that "CR is closed to commercial export"? Yes, we all have. Is it true? No , absolutely , blantantly false. Which was , is , and remains my point.

Rich,
Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you have several CR frogs now? In fact don't you list some in a very recent classified ad? You call them "your line", so it stands to reason you either collected them yourself or imported them directly. Since the offer is there, I'd love to see your paperwork for the CR frogs you currently have. Hey, and why not the Panamanian ones too? Especially the mainland ones. You also claim to have site specific frogs, but I can't see how this is possible unless you actually collected them yourself or know who did and trust them. You don't seem to trust anyone, so I assume it is the former. Show us all that they came into the country legally since you offered.
