Very cool Chuck! That little table adds a nice touch so you can enjoy coffee or what not while soaking up the greenhouse surroundings.

Thanks! The two counter-high chairs are spares from the dining room set (which spends 99% of its time without the extra leaf in place), so I just added a little bistro table to make them a bit more useful, and to have a work table for dusting flies, etc.

Don't matter which way I look at it that back wall has 12 vivs marked out for Casper to build mate, maybe you just need to be abit more subtle with your hints for him  be gentle with him mate,I'm struggling to keep up let alone the master viv building dude

It's a beautiful place Chuck, your room, grat's from over yonder. Sometimes i just yearn for enough space to have a chair, other than to stand on to reach all those iso cultures. It's alternative use is to plonk Shaz on when we talk to the kids,ok others call it feeding time, but the madness,it cuteth many ways!!
very cool kiddo

lol... That's what happens when I shoot with a wide-angle lens -- the room is smaller than it looks, and unfortunately, I'm somewhat bigger than I look  It'll be a long time before I expend beyond the vivs currently built, I suspect...

Hi Chuck. I like that that tank on the black stand with the water plants and bog like set up. It gives me some ideas.
Do you use that for anything other than the plants?

It's got a handful of fully aquatic plants, and then mostly houseplants (parlor palms, peace lilies, etc.) planted immersed. There's a half-dozen neons and a couple of flying foxes in there, but that's about it. The tank itself was initially custom built as a (marine) frag tank (by Dart Den's BlueDacnis1, in fact), but I never got around to setting the frag tank up, and eventually decided to build a low-tech planted tank with it instead.

Wow, simply stunning Chuck!

I am sure you have mentioned but would you mind telling me what LED lights your using? The color looks perfect and they seem nice and bright.

Thanks Dustin!

My LEDs are the cheap homebrew variety -- you can find step-by-step DIY instructions here.

(the planted tank mentioned above has the same LED setup the racks do, just mounted on a small square(ish) heat sink rather than the long narrow ones over the racks)

Wow Chuck thank you.

I just read through the DIY tutorial you made. You did a great job on it and made it look quite simple. I am going to try my hand at building one of these. If all goes well I will be switching everything over in the frog room to the homebrew LED's.

Thanks again.
