Passport $$$ !!
#1
Just had to renew and got one of those micro chipped passports for the lofty price of $140.00.

Should I be worried about the chip ? I did buy one of those leather cases with the transmiton resistant coverings....

Phil,

What was the turn around time?

Mine expired last year and I need to get a new one before I go to the bahamas.

you don't even need the passport for the Caribbean....just that I.D is fine, if ya wanna go that route.

This is my 3rd passport and it's really thick and stocky - jammed with surveillance electronic stuffs...

yeah uhh.....

Leaving the country without a passport..... Is a very bad idea.

No seriously...you don't need a passport anymore if you only go to:

Canada
Mexico
Caribbean

all you need is that 'passport I.D card' - size and thickness of a credit card. Totally different.

I did my renewal around Feb 2012 and was about 2 weeks or less - same as yours. I was expecting a few months. No complaints anyway...

Ours governments are trying to speed up the turn around time for passports because of the Canada-USA and USA-Canada passport requirement.

We're only waiting two weeks now too.
