Evidence for cross contamination from misting systems

Hi all,

New Dart keeper and new poster but long time amph and reptile keeper,...

I've got 2 leuc's in QT and am working through treatment for hooks based upon initial fecal results from Dr. Frye.

I am looking to set up a misting system that I can use across a couple of tanks for various tropical beasties.

Is there any real evidence, other than anecdotal, that a common misting system will transport Chytrid (for instance) across tanks? I'm finding it hard to believe without some evidence. Don't zoo's in general use one big misting system across many tanks?

I would treat my whole collection as contaminated, anyway, if I found evidence in one place.
While I follow pretty good sanitation procedures between servicing each animal tank I know that my procedures are still not perfect.

I have no hard evidence to cite, but IMO, yes...there could be a high risk of cross contamination of many things, chtyrid being only one....

I have heard there is risk of contamination resulting from unsanitary feeder lines. I have heard that leigionaires is actually a possibility, as wild as that may seem...

Anyone with more information? Do zoos set up a separate misting system for each viv?
I was thinking to install a check valve (anti-siphon) so nothing flows backward from the tank into the reservoir.
I don't want to cut corners but I want to be cost efficient where it does not effect quality (of life, safety,etc.)

I've heard this too and think it may be possible. But, if you QT the frogs and swab them, I think the risk would be very low.
