Slugs and Nemerteans - How to remove ?
#1
Everyone panics and I get that, but there's often a simple, preliminary solution:

1. Take a deep breath and realize that your frogs are safe, your plants are most likely safe and you WILL beat them.

2. Forget about CO2 bombs, frog-proof beer canisters, sluggo, slug rid, and worm-away (just made that one up). They are all much more dangerous applications. You don't have to bring out the big guns.....yet.

3. Buy 2-3 boxes of PLAIN unscented uncoated unsoften unplushed Kleenexes or even paper towels will do. Keep them next to the vivarium.

4. Squish and squish like there's no tomorrow.

5. Check the vivariums 2-3 times each night, several hours after darkness. Check with a small flashlight and repeat #4 above.

6. Obtain fresh iceberg lettuce and keep it cold. Take some out and spray with cold water and put it into the center of the viv just before lights out. Repeat #'s 5 and 4 many times. The slugs (not Nemos) will congregate on the lettuce.

same with FF feedings. If your Nemo population is particularly active during FF feedings....use that time to hunt and squish with the kleenex.

The point is, you will be SURPRISED at how big a dent you can put in the troublesome bug populations just by hand removal and a little diligence. Just keep at it, and eventually the populations will reduce so much so, that they often disappear completely, for me.

Try it instead of looking for 'how to make an atomic bomb' or some such......much easier.

Well I see this one is an old post but don't slugs eat frog eggs? I have noticed slugs in my vivs recently. I don't want them to eat or harm the eggs of my frogs.
