It's hurting the hobby. It's why there is a resurgence here, of this Site - Dart Den. People are just sick of it.

The 'Good ole' Boys klub' way of the doing has to be revealed, outed and stopped.

Feedback is terribly skewed.

I went kinda nuts the last 4 months and spent rediculous amounts of money to sponsors. My good feedback is there and a little not so good feedback but much is missing. Along with many of my posts. Its unfair to people reading feedback threads deciding how to spend their money. I spent my money in places I wouldn't have and shouldn't have, but didn't know better.

By the way...

I got a camera with some advice from folks here and plan to start a thread with my stuff....
In 4 months I went from no frogs to 12 tanks ranging from 10 to 150 gallons and 40+ frogs.

First - WOW - that is impressive!

I echo your sentiment - as a fellow newb, my initial impressions were the scope of feedback was more detailed and helpful on DD than other forums. The feedback section is especially critical for new folks trying to find their way in a hobby that is inherently reliant on online vendors and finding good local froggers. I prefer the more flexible posting styles and fewer rules - it certainly makes it easier to share concerns AND praise for vendors. So in making posting less appealing its possible the overall quality of the posts decreases, and reviewing content for approval prior to releasing could certainly lead to bias.

So the feedback threads are what initially got me here and enhanced my comfort level with certain vendors. The quality of the discussions encouraged me to stay and post! former lurker
