Selling Froglets to Beginners ?
#1
My Imitators are finally producing froglets. The tads are morphing out great, and I'm pretty psyched about the whole thing. Now that I've posted them for sale on local web sites, I've gotten a couple of calls from kids and their parents, whom have never kept reptiles or amphibians, let alone frogs that require such specific temps and humidity levels. These guys want to get into the hobby because my frogs "look cool."

I'm all for helping a newbie get set up correctly, but these guys all have no clue what it takes to keep these frogs alive and healthy. I've shut down offers because I feel like I should be selling to people who are capable of keeping darts. I don't feel like I should have to throw my ethics out of the window just to move some frogs...

How many of you guys have had this problem?

You should be proud. There are people who will sell whatever they can just to make a buck. There is absolutely nothing wrong with screening potential buyers and pointing them in the right direction. Give them the info that they need to know, point them to here to read up and learn something about the frogs and their husbandry.
