MARS is pretty dead...deader than a doornail.

IAD is 'taken' over or morphed into Frog Day.

Baltimore (all the IAD's) was a VERY good venue.

NYC / staten Island was a BETTER venue.

Repticon now comes to the same place as these were at though. Several frog vendors were there

Repticon is NO MARS....

Repticon = commercial money grubbing venture

MARS = excellent conservation / raise money for rainforest ect ect.

You would think with it being for profit they would do a much better Job.

I mean really how badly do you have to suck that you get crushed by a bunch of tree huggers when you actually have a financial agenda?

Mars was hands down the best reptile show I have ever been to and the last time I attend it was over 15 years ago.

Repticon is at the opposite end of that spectrum.

Ok so I have all kinds of witty ways to describe how shitty Repticon is but the hilarity of them is questionable so I will just leave it at this....

Repticon is also a member of the lemon party.

That's sad Sad not knowing this, I bought tickets to my cities first show... Hosted by Repticon. My proverbial bubble just popped! I had no idea.

Parrothead, yeah Repticon does suck. Unless you like expensive line bred pythons. You may see a couple of frog vendors there, but be prepared to not be blown away by the frogs there.

Ok now that we have established Repticon as the outhouse it is. Is there any other shows out there that are worth a damn?

I have extremely fond memories of MARS and IAD. I was extremely disappointed to see the MD show has literally not changed at all in 15 years. The Va show is on par with a concert port-a-john.

I have heard that hamburg is really good. But I am hesitant to make that trek and then find only 3 frog venders there.

The absolute best thing I see in terms of darts is the local meetings at people's houses. but it would be nice if we could put on a really good yearly show or something.

What else is out there in terms of shows for frog dorks like us?

Hamburg is the best show around right now. White plains is good, but H-burg has more supplies and also has 'hotz' and baby tutrles - stuff that isn't allowed in NY.

Hamburg routinely has 5-6 different dart frog vendors and lots of other frogs / tree frogs.

Bummer. Well, if nothing else, maybe I'll come across a few freebies. I'd really like to see some Halloween crabs too!

Sounds as if Repticon and NARBC have a lot in common...never, never again.

Frogday is pretty much 'it' for darts and it's a traveling once a year show.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

If tone is more important to you than content, you are at the wrong place.

I went to Repticon today, it was nice! Only 2 companies with PDFs, but you must remember, I am in the boondocks, and don't get these companies often! I am also far, far away from places that sell PDFs, so I am easily amused! Josh's had tons of PDFs, many, many tincts! It was very hard to choose, but I bought 4 vittatus from Josh's, and am very happy about this! I didn't see a frog that wasn't vigorous and healthy looking, all full of energy!
I also bought 3 cobalts from Glass Box Tropicals. Also very energetic and vigorous!
So awesome to bring home 7 frogs, so cool! They got home safely, and put safely in their vivs. I fed them all ffs, and they were all feeding within 15 minutes of arriving home! Could not believe it!
