This was a tough one, for supplies I go to one vendor, plants I go to someone else, lights is another person, and frogs are another person/ people.

Gotta pick one....as the best. Better than all the rest.

Couldn't vote on this one...I use different places for different reasons. I might use NE Herp or Josh's for some ff supplies, Protean or That Pet Place for aquarium/viv needs, Black Jungle for some harder to find stuff, Tropiflora, Gardino, Tropical Plantz for plants, and some assorted non-hobby places for sphagnum, driftwood, etc... I generally don't by frogs from websites...

I haven't used all of the suppliers listed but I have used Understory, NE Herp, and Josh's Frogs numerous times and my expectations were exceeded each time. Also, any website that backs up their product offerings with valuable information for the beginning hobbyist will get by business over another.

If you are buying frogs via an "add to cart" button, you're setting yourself up for failure.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

If tone is more important to you than content, you are at the wrong place.

Actually, I should have worded the poll better...

Let's just say, from now on...vote for who you think is BETTER than all the others. 'Better' in terms of ANY which way - better service, better selection, better customer support, better looking.

This poll was intended to be a popularity contest, of sorts. Just trying to shake the tree a bit, as there is quite a bit of Hobby apathy from all corners lately.

I picked NE Herp because it`s local to me and they have just about the best customer service around. I really only deal with Black Jungle in person and at shows because they rarely if ever answer e-mails or their phone.

This is mind blowing to me.

NE Herp is
way out front currently. Can't say I'm surprised by that at all. I bet if LightYourReptiles.com was up there though, they might get a run for their money.

I was shooting for 'full service' Online Frog businesses - livestock on thru to feeders and supplies, so I wanted to cut it off to those types of businesses only.

New poll, we can do plants, broms

and then lights, perhaps.

I don't think that is necessarily an accurate statement. I will agree that there are probably more chances for disaster with some of the big box wholesale flipper websites, ok, way more... But there are also a handful of very good online vendors that ship quality animals in a safe manner.

I would say online shopping cart would be low on my recommendation from any vendor, no matter how good.

Shopping cart frogs tend to be the common type...same as all the common stuff found at anygiven reptile show that all the impulse buyers go for.

If you have the option to I wouldn't buy online because its hard to get a sense of the frogs healthy and such. However I have to agree with Jeremy. I think that if you go to the right site and find someone that you can really trust then I don't think it is as bad as Rich made it out to be. Personally I would buy from Understory or Joshs frogs online.

In my experience, the impulse buyer is just shopping for the cheapest deal. Doesn't matter how tiny, skinny, or healthy an animal is - which is why the big box flippers continue to put tadpoles with legs on the show tables and they sell sell sell...

Common stuff at shows, common stuff online... seems like maybe that's what the vendor's tend to breed, because they need to cater (to some extent) to the beginner demographic. Seems like a good thing for the hobby to me (at least when well started healthy frogs are being sold - not the froglets with tails).

I don't see how that relates to online shopping carts though? High end frogs online are better than common frogs online? I
