Poll - What Type of lights do you use?

This is a poll to see what type of lights people use on their vivs. I know a lot of people may have more than one type but please try to pick one that majority of your tanks have.

LED's seem like the wave of the future but I can get great wattage with T-8's for 1/2-1/3rd of the initial cost, the heat is realtively low, and their longevity/reliability is pretty well-known and proven. I like the idea of less kWh for my electirc bill, but not at the current cost...

I am on the same page. LED is for sure the "new thing," but it is hard to beat T8/T12 for initial cost. There is a variety of color temp. and specialty bulbs readily available to most people.

Todd from LYR just came out with a new LED bar too. Not for sale yet but he is doing custom orders. I have 5 of them and they are a big improvement from the others. Unfortunately they are a little more expensive but they are worth it.

I'll vouch for that. I received some too, and they are awesome! Defintely a big improvement from the others, I can't believe how bright they are.

It has created a big problem though. The tanks that have the old LEDs on them look dark and ominous compared to the tanks with the new ones. It makes me think I have to replace them and that would be very expensive! haha

Two of my tanks have LEDs and my third tank has T5s. All seem to look equally bright. I'm still waiting to see how the T5s color up my plants since that whole set up is fairly new.
