Looking for Great deals on tads or frogs for these species..
#1
Hi guys, I kinda took a break from the boards and the hobby the last couple years, and with changing jobs several times and currently being unemployed living off savings and family generosity my efforts to rebuild my collection after getting wiped out by the ice storm we had here in OK, a few years back have been going very slowly. I have procured several space heaters and a back up window AC unit in the last couple years though so while I still need a generator to be absolutely safe, I'm in a much better position if anything goes wrong with the climate in my place again.

I've Also, kinda pulled out of an era of depression and am getting re-interested in life, frogs, and generally getting my crap together... but I'm fairly broke. So I'm looking for anyone willing to hook a brother up and cut me some crazy awesome deals on tadpoles or frogs...mainly of the species listed below but hey feel free to make any offer if you're drowning in tads/frogs and don't know what to do with them all...I've get plenty of empty vivs. So that is my sad story

So here is the list...(Keep in mind while I can pay shipping and small amounts for individual frogs and tads I am on a very tight budget, but in no danger of not being able to keep my animals or myself fed, and housed)

Benedicta (most coveted species...I know probably out of luck here but maybe someone will take pity on me for all my years of service to the boards/newbs?)
Sisa bassleri (2nd most wanted species) (I like pretty much all the Ameerega species though)
Any of the nicer green auratus morphs and all the turqoise/blue auratus morphs
Blue auratus
Superblue auratus
Highland bronze auratus
luecs
red galacts
oyapok tincs
orange/red lamasi
imitator
vittatus
black bassleri
Mint terriblis
trivittata (any type, reds would be awesome though)
variablis
reticulata (Ya another long shot but one of my favorites)
ventrimaculatus/amy's (prerferably the reder ones)
aurotaenia (the 2 green stripe kind)

Basically frogs that have much brown, yellow, or orange in general are not on the top of my list with a few exceptions...but I love all darts so I'm open to keeping about anything.

(If you don't know who I am and am wondering since I only have a few posts on this board, I've mostly been active on DB since 2004 and Dartfrogz, but that place seemed dead last time I stopped by...I tend to go where the people are even if I'm not a fan of all that place's policies)

Was there some database changes? I could have sworn years ago I was way more active on here then 7 posts?
Thanks guys! Best wishes...

I'll check back here periodically, or feel free to PM me on DB or contact me at marksvr@yahoo.com">Dmarksvr@yahoo.com

Phil bought the site from Corey a couple years ago.

You can email me if you like about pums. I don't know what constitutes a great deal, but I think I am more than fair and am always open to discussion of extended payment plans.

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Please email me, as I can organize those better and I don't really like doing business or trades or sales, or anything too much via PM on a site.

richfrye@comcast.net

I'll give you my phone number and you can call when you get a chance.

Will do, I sent a pm, but I'll just copy/paste it into an email.

This board is wonky...
I sent it through the dartden email contact thingy and had to change my email address for the board and reactivate my account here too, so hopefully it finds you ok...title was "Sup Rich!" ...so ya that's from me.

Dave,

You don't happen to have access to any passes to the Tulsa Aquarium, do you? I'm in Wichita, KS and was contemplating taking the family to Tulsa to see it again over spring break. I could drop off some froglets, then, maybe.

No I sure don't but I looked up the admission info for you... I've actually only been there once to interview for a job, was pretty nice and they let me look around for free. Didn't get the Job sadly because I lacked saltwater experience, but had herp/frog experience, small mammal experience, freshwater aquarium experience, and had done a ton of research on saltwater so basically knew how to set one up...even had a little plumbing experience they were interested in.

They hired a saltwater guy and 6mo later some dude posted on DB the new dart frog exhibit they built there. He did a decent job on it...but I was like seriously? Passed up one of the most experienced froggers in Oklahoma who also has a bunch of other useful experience and then build dart frog exhibit a few months later? No I'm not bitter Wink ...Oh well it was 7.50 an hour anyways, I ended up with a higher paying job if not a more interesting one.

Ok enough ranting... (Btw I was born in Wichita, lived in Chanute/inola, maybe topeka too...I forget, I was very young. Wink )

If you do wanna maybe do a deal if you come into town let me know what you got. I will say, and I probably should have posted this initially, is by "super deal" I've got about 100 I can let go of for now, maybe 150...and I'm really looking to get at least 3 frogs for that, or several tads/froglets, the exception might be a breeding pair of something, or some of the most favorite species (The ones specifically on the list). I'm basically a charity case Wink

Anyways here is that info...

I say put 50.00 in gas, keep the hundred bucks. Drive down next weekend, return home with frogs and tads, maybe even an egg clutch or 2...

Dave,

I'll get with you next month when we head that way or to OKC. I'll have at least 2 more species by then with froglets that will be nicely sized for you and we'll see if I have anything that is of interest.

oooh when you put it that way it is very tempting. What are we talking here species/morph wise?

We gonna hit up the clubhouse? I uh, had a very very good time with some of the girls there...thank god for that deserted top balcony area Wink (I think it was the clubhouse...some strip joint there). Strippers are great...don't give them any money, talk to em about school, their kids and crap...and don't be a tool...its like shooting fish in a barrel, even when your not all that good looking! (Because they can get Hot guys...what they want is respect)

That wisdom should be worth some frogs to some lucky bachelor Wink (The man show actually did a poll on how to pick up strippers and came up with all the same stuff, except they also said be a regular)

Almost forgot... the clubhouse. I go there with Vin, when i do go.

I use to bounce at titty bars so the thrill is gone for the most part.

I'm more into drinking with a heavy metal god, the chicks are secondary...

Hmm tough call, I'm not a huge fan of tincs except for the all blue like the new river/blue sip/koetari and I would really like some Oyapoks.... I already have azureus. I do like Imis, and I'd give the auratus a home too. Let me think it over...that is a tough call, I'm not a fan of long drives...but it is tempting.

Either way man I really appreciate the offer.

Vin? Like in diesel? I loved pitch black! Wink That is cool man, though I can see how it would loose its thrill...to some degree, being privy to so much and all....but hot girls are still hot girls, not sure that could ever get old for me Wink ...but those places and my good luck have nearly got me arrested at such places and other bars...so I try to be good now. It's hard to say no when they are ready to go...right there  I was actually a bouncer...well technically, I feel weird calling myself that being just under 5'9 and 150lbs...but I was a doorman/bouncer at Jr Murphy's in Stillwater OK. Excuse me ma'am...can you come down from the table please? No sir I'm not letting you back in to find your girlfriend...we are shutting down and you left, I don't care how long you stand here and threaten to beat my a$$...No I don't know if I can stop you...but we'll find out  (He backed down, never got in)

Rad, and thanks! Oh pantera ok... (I'm not very up on the music scene), but my friends live in shiny toy gun's old house in OKC and my ex gf from college is also the ex of the all american rejects lead singer who I met a few times...he was much nicer before they got more famous. I also heard they blew a 4mil record deal because they were arguing like children in the execs office and had to settle for a 3mil deal with another label. Also saw Dee Snider at the Hard rock casino here in Tulsa when I was working there...didn't get to meet him though. Was kinda cool working at the casinos, I got to see several shows for free. Oh I should probably go to bed I'm starting to ramble in these posts Wink
