Very interesting experiment. A side note question though, How clean does the glass stay with the extra minerals in the water over time? Does it get a calcium build up on it?

Help me understand this. So are you spraying the whole vivarium one time one week with calcium water mix, and then
one time the next week with vitamin water mix? SO in the past 3 weeks you have done this a total of 3 times?

ps. 2 drops for one gal.

Pretty spiffy frogs to run an experiment on.

I may be wrong but I think I've read where adding calcium and extra vits to media doesn't do much in the way of producing extra vitamin rich flies.

the resultant from the liquid is going to play hell with the glass - unsightly deposits.

Calcium is absorbed thru the underside patch of the frog - same way they soak up water to hydrate eggs and tads. It just seems to me to use the old 'go as nature intended it' here and not try to reinvent the wheel. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for innovation and advancing the hobby but this seems a little out of left field.

Calcium absorbed by frogs walking on clay in vivs is the 'cutting edge" stuff we are at right now. Again, please don't take this the wrong way and let me dissuade you from your experiment. I just want to gets some opposing viewpoint stuff out there to help /advance the whole shebang.

The only form of calcium I use to spray on the frog is calcium gluconate, and that is ony when they first arrive as their muscles need it badly. The calcium power is unlikely to be taken up so easily, an might not be working at all. I'd be more concerned about keeping so many animals together, as stress is just as important.

Wouldn't this be absorbed through the under skin when the leaves on the plant and floor are wet?
