Epic Paladarium Build- PIC HEAVY
#1
Well as some of you may know I have moved to work for an acrylic aquarium manufacturing company. They got to see my Protean display tank and several people have loved it and asked me if I could do it bigger. I laughed and said yes and was shocked to what they gave me to work with Wink. Now I am building a paladarium in a 8'x3'x3' double bullnose acrylic tank. This is going to be the home of 3 different dart frog species, gonatodes geckos, a tree frog species possibly, discus, tetras, apistogrammas, angel fish, red lizards, L-400 plecos, and a few other goodies. I have talked with several different company's and have chosen to get all my plants from Jason w/ www.Tropicalplantz.com, lighting from Todd w/ www.lightyourreptiles.com, misting system from Marty w/ www.Mistking.com, computer module from Tony w/ www.ecozone.com, and several other sponsors from the fish hobby. Pictures of the tank are below and more to come with in the next few days.

This is such BS.
Chris WTF?

Save these pics and then post them up. Don't just throw a picture like that up and then make us wait!

This is like Season 5 of "Breaking Bad" they just decide to break the season up and make us wait 8 months(?) for the second half.

I think we should come up with a term for this....

Vivtease

I will now use it in a sentence....

Chris is a being a total vivtease for only putting up one picture of his upcoming project.

Hey everyone. I know everyone is very excited to see updated pictures and I will do my best to post them soon. I just finished building the stand and placed the tank on top of it. Please remember that I am also busy building 10'x3'x3' and several others too so this will be a slow process but hope to have it finished in the next month. Sorry again for not sharing a lot of pictures but I promise I will post a lot as I progress in the building of this tank.

I did until here recently when it was bought out. I have been doing aquarium maintenance for the past 8 years and have owned my own company since 2010. I am now working for the two websites you see in my signature. I do online marketing for Todd and build/ install aquariums across the us for Aquart Aquariums

So the tank is filled up with water and the substrate is in. I created my own sand mixture to make is very similar to what I saw in Brazil/ Peru for the water substrate. Just waiting for the water to clear up now so I can move to the next step.

my question is what type of glue do you use to put the tanks together. i use to use something called ten ex for my models. it was like water. friend also used it for his acrylic builds for tank lids. but of course he doesn't have any left he doesn't have a name.

Im sorry but I really don't share that info as many different acrylic tank builders use different types of glue. It has a particular number in the name and that's all I can say. We have had no issues with the glue that we use and offer a 50 year warranty on our aquariums that they will not leak.

Weld-On 16 is an excellent glue and used by a couple of acrylic tank manufacturers that I know of.

It works great for patch jobs or building small tanks. I would never recommend someone building an aquarium with it though.

Okay, time for a much needed update. I have started making a custom background for the water area and started to plant plants now that I have Todd's new panel HOT5 lights. I am using two arcadia bulbs, 12% D3 UVB and Plant Pro, along with two day light bulbs. Here are a few pictures with more to follow soon.
