Screen topped PDF tanks at local fish/rep/pet store...

You read it. They've got screens on top, and a large shallow dish of
water for all PDF tanks. The lighting was minimal. Of course, almost all
the frogs were soaking in water.

Is there anyone that considers this a good option for long term tanks?
It seems counter to everything I've read...

i know how you feel, my local petshot had PDF becaue of me, and they set them up in similar enclosures. I talked them into purchasing 11 tanks from me which i specifically set up for darts. So i now have my own little wall of tanks. But unfortunately they stopped ordering PDFs so now the 11 tanks sit there empty, o well it was a nice 3,500 over the summer.
