Trying to breed Adelphobates galactonotus "Red" morph

I have two pair of red galacts approx 15 months, set up in all glass terrariums, 12 hour daylight cycle, misted twice daily, low-mid 70's, using coco huts and film canisters. Any additional advice will be helpful.

tell us a little more about how you have the galacs set up.
What size tank are they in?
What is the humidity level at?
How often are you feeding them?

I doubt the galacs will use the film canisters, ours usually lay in the leaf litter or the coco hut.
At 15 months sounds like they are just starting to come of age, so I wouldn't rush them. If you are certain you have a pair, they will lay when they are ready.
What we usually do for ours is to give them about a 2 week dry period. At this time we will lightly mist once a day, and cut back to feeding them everyother day. Then after a couple of weeks, we will crank up the mistings to 4 times a day for about 3 minutes at a time, and feed them very heavy every day.

The humidity is high, misting twice a day. I might try mimicking the wet dry seasons like you suggested. I have also received info that running water might spark some breeding. I will try some different angles. thanks for the help

I had a pair of red galacts about two years ago which I bred very successfully. They laid a clutch of 5-7 eggs about every ten days for about three months. They were housed in a 40 gallon breeder with a water pump and and a sizeable water feature. The humidity was extremely high and it wasn't planted very heavily. I had two cocohuts at opposite ends of the tank they used both, but used the one by the water feature the most. Both cocohuts were somewhat surrounded by plants. The temperature was probably close to 78-82 during the day and 68-72 at night. The light cycle was probably between 15.5-16 hours of light a day. I also kept a few pieces of driftwood which extended near the top of the tank and served as the frogs favorite spot to hang. My galacts were at least three years old before they started breeding.

This colour morph is enjoying a recent (2010-2011) uptick in desirablity of late. Partly due to it being one of the few actual reddish coloured dart frogs available in the U.S Dart Frog Hobby. This species / morph is reported to be "hard to breed" by many.

Tim Heath - N.E Pennsylvania, recently had 12-14 froglets and juvenile Red Galacts available but never posts on forums or advertises. With me posting and passing the word around online, all frogs were sold in a week.

Since Galacts seem to be seasonal breeders as well probably adds to the difficulty. My yellows breed around June/July then again in late November, early December. Tim had Reds for sale at the White Plains show a few times last year. His daughter told me theirs started breeding after 9 years! I think you see Red Galacts being posted for sale maybe twice a year at most( Not counting the $1200 breeding pairs) which makes them popular. I got 3 from Pat Nabors last July. One of them definitely a female and shes huge. So I am crossing my fingers I get some action from them soon
