Frog Trap ?
#1
Has anyone come up with a way to trap frogs? Let's say you have a 12x12x18 Exo Terra that's heavily planted and grown in and you really like the way it looks but you have a pair of lightening fast imitators in there. Is there some way to trap them so you won't have to destroy the tank trying to catch them?

It's hard enough trying to them if you aren't concern about wrecking everything.

Large ....long, section of clear plastic tube. Sneak up on viv. Try to open doors cautiously. Tube the frogs.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've actually tried leaving those plastic frog catchers from Black Jungle in several places in the vivarium and I've never found a frog in them.

I'm trying to catch 2 R. Imitator "Chazuta" and these things are fast..Lightening fast! Of all the Thumbnails I've kept these have got to be the fastest, and the ones most keen on jumping out the front door. My Nominants no longer try to escape out of their enclosure and are happy being in there.

The enclosure I have these two frogs in is just hitting its stride, the sides have that perfect film of algae and all the Neoregalias have anchored themselves successfully to everything and the ficus has roots growing on the glass...it's perfect and I don't relish tearing it up.

I've never heard of a passive frog trap. All the clear plastic tubes are what everyone is using but requires hunting them and an active hand. Small rocket frogs can zip past you...if you have a smaller size viv and/or odd openings or a top lid aquarium type opening, I'd enlist the help of someone to help watch and make sure no frogs shoot by you, unnoticed. Happened to me.
