The amount of water that is held in the sump is good for at least four days without any top-off or overflow from the GH. Again, it is what had a decent footprint, and was lying around. The idea is that between run-off and topping-off I should not have tons of maintainance of far as H2O goes.
Thanks Marty. I can almost stretch a hammock across it.

Ahh, alright Rich...I thought you built it specifically for the GH and did not understand its height function. If I were you I would look into that hammock idea...

STILL waiting for the broms....... Confusedhock: Confusedhock: Confusedhock: .
The "tree" will house many of them , once they arrive.

Rich
Broms came in today. The pics are not great , but I want to let them settle in. Pumilio in each pic.

SUPER. Rich, how will you insure that the frogs are getting enough food in that huge space, and also, how in the world will you find eggs/tads? I'm guessing you'll just be waiting to find froglets eh?

Luke
Hey Luke,
Food should not be a prob. I have thought about the supplement issues and will target feed (you can see the culture in the pics) and give them dusted "treats" of FF larva so I know they will be getting the supplements they need. I have been seeding with springtails and have flyers buzzing around.
I would like nothing more than to let the Uberviv "do its own thing" and let froglets navigate that viv at will. I plan on having a large number of feeders (different species) to make sure that with or without supplementation they should eventually be fine on their own. That was the game plan.

Rich
Tough to get stuff through the glass.

Rich
Total cost/value - the Darklands...just under $2000.

Including the viv or no? Confusedhock:
Yup.

geckguy

Luke, Darklands is a locale of pumilio, there is no need to find eggs or tads, as the frogs raise them.

Darks!de

I know darklands is a pumilio, I was just wondering what Rich planned for the offspring. I'm sure once they become comfortable they will have lots of tads.

Rich,

Where did you buy the GH from? Was it very hard to cut the pieces out and place the glass in?

After setting it up what do you think about its size? Is it too small, too big? I have you have not had it up for a long time but what are your complaints so far? I am thinking of doing something similar.

Mike
how long did you soak the wood and how long did you wait till you put them in.
walt
Wonderful looking display enclosure. Everything looks really great!
Mike,
I Googled greenhouse kits and came up with a number of suppliers, you should be able to find it that way, I think it was called the "Julienne". The "walls" are acrylic. It would not be too bad to put together with two people. I did mine by myself and it was a bit of a balancing act with the longer pieces.
I just placed the pumilio and they are still settling in. I do see them though. I would say it should be awhile before they produce enough froglets to outgrow the area.
Walt,
The wood was soaked in a bathtub for two days and rinsed/dried for a week-ten days.
Thanks Robb.

I dont think you will have to worry about the froglets overgrowing the space. I was looking at those same greenhouse lean to things, but was a little to broke, cant remember the site or exact prices.
Jace,
It was $350 delivered (THE best "bang for the buck" ) I will look it up again today when I get a chance. I just got back in town late last night to see my Pistons loose.
And thanks for helping out with the broms, very nice.
