Viv construction photo journal for Nancys
#1
This weekend I started and finished the construction of the vivarium for my pumilio Cayo Nancy. I still have to add several bromeliads because the ones I have now didn’t fit the viv.

Here’s the construction photo journal.

Apply silicone for better adeshion.

Measure / cut the driftwood to fit the viv

Cut the false bottom

Fill the back of the wood with foam in an effort to avoid rot and to keep frogs more visible

Glue wood to back of tank and fill remaining space with more foam. Instead of using coco (ran out) I got some old fern panels I had from the orchids and attached them to the foam.

Very nice Alex! That piece of wood is great looking.

What are you using to support the egg crate?

I use pieces of plastic that look like wood. These came out of long boards I used to make the plant benches for my greenhouse. They work great because they will never rot, absorb water, change shape and will not take space for water capacity on the bottom of the viv (less frequent drainages).

The driftwood I got several large pieces on a deserted island on the mexican pacific.
