Poll - Keeping Darts in micro vivs ?

Not for me, but it could definitely pass on a bad trend and it is currently being done.

Good topic Michael...especially since Exoterra is pushing the crap outa those tiny tanks. They are all over the Reptile shows and you KNOW all the newbies are buying them and thinking "hmmmm....what can I fit in here".

Horrible....unless it's a small bug.

No, sadly enough. This was from John himself.

I respect John's knowledge and ability to help in the hobby but its well known we dislike each other and this is just a bad example of a known name leading the new hobbyists down the wrong path. I welcome his debate on this. I think I posted up page after page of issues just a couple weeks ago and that was 10 gallon based. This is a 3 gallon.

....yea... um no! Most of my pairs are in 18 cubes or bigger (only two are cubes rest are bigger) I have two 12x12x18's set up but one houses two excudo (which could use a bigger tank) and the other is a holdback tank.

I do find it funny he's not promoting this on DB. I seriously doubt he'd post this on DB.

I'm sure it's as easy to make a 3.5 as well as a 10...er um a 20, yeah , that's the ticket.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Maybe they are pushing the 3.5 gal vivs as a way for us to accept that 10gal is ok?

Yea but if you take into account of the viv being built right and quantify the space needed to get the frogs to acting in the proper proportions to wild frogs, what's wrong with a 5 gallon? Everyone knows that a well built 5g can be just as good if not better then a crappy built 20 or maybe even a 40g B. I mean really you "go big or go home" guys are just missing the boat on these new smaller vivs. Hell I could fit 100 maybe more of these smaller ones and take over the entire hobby with captive bred frogs.

LOL.....

I voted NO......If not a chance in hell was an option I would have voted for that.....To bad these companies are going in the wrong direction. Whats next? A pocket size viv that you or your girl can carry around in your pocket or purse? Maybe we shouldn't give them any ideas.

when faced with this regression - small, cute tanks....a slogan like that will certainly be good.

I think everyone that votes should at least back it up with a post, no matter the answer.
