Quite simply put, there are things that need to be reported in our hobby, for the good of the hobby, and this is the only venue (excepting the dead Frognet) that said info can be openly posted.
The above is reason enough of a reason to frequent DD, and the above fact is the main reason I chose to leave DB. Life's all about choices.
Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.
If tone is more important to you than content, you are at the wrong place.

I prefer this forum but DB has a lot of really good information. Mods shouldn't be speaking ill of other sources of information.
The simple answer to this is the mods don't like DD because they have no power here. So they openly speak how horrible DD is.

The hobby FINALLY has a place where the truth comes out and things aren't hidden and secret and protected based on who you are or if you are a friend of someone or a sponsor. Preferential treatment. The Mod that said that may be the one who's hand was caught in the sketchy person/frog cookie jar and that's been revealed here as well, so no surprise of the dislike there :wink:

Contentious?...'bullshit' ? ....well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but you know I have to disagree.
Frog Forum 'Nirvana' is an impossible dream. DB isn't even coming close, as much as they think they are. Even though they threaten, ban, infraction, hide, delete, deny, bury, crony, play favourites ect ect....the simple fact that all that has been 'outed' and revealed denies them of any semblance of a 'great' forum. Good yes, but def not great, based on that alone.
I think DD is WAY closer to the 'sweet spot' of true hobby forum freedom and 'correctness'. It's been said that we are a 'free for all' here and that's just not anywhere close to the truth if you have actually been here awhile and/or know me. I think we are in the 'middle' here with a good blend of letting people express themselves and opinions but at the same time, knowing that I'm not going to let someone beat or harass anyone.
DB has a ton of archived knowledge, hard to find and sometimes like a library with mislabeled books and scattered everywhere but knowledge nonetheless. DD was created to be the coke to their pepsi. The Patron to their Cuervo. There always needs to be TWO of something so that there is a choice.

I think all things, both good and bad go in cycles. It's almost a given that after months of 'calmness' there will be a spat of some kind. The interweb and it anonymity is mostly to blame there. The internet is like a Krystals Hamburger joint drive up window. Sometimes it's fine and other times, all you're trying to do is get back to your apt safely with a couple double cheeses and you have to wait for two cars worth of kids ahead of ya, puking in the drivethru at 130am.

For me, I enjoy going to both places. I really can not say that I like one more than the other. I like it here because if you want the real feedback on someone you can find it. The members here have a ton of knowledge as does the other board. I do not like the lack of transparency and the false ideas DB tries to create. We don't have that problem here on the Den and I am grateful for everyone who puts forth knowledge and keeps this place chugging along.
