I thought so too Smile. Then Damien posted these and I had to make room (still kind of sorting that out, but luckily these guys are small).

I moved a few years back and reduced my footprint focusing mostly on Lorenzo and thumbs (sirensis, nominant fantastica, and summersi). I kept my 18x18x24s and bigger vivs but sold off some of my smaller vivs and put some in a storage closet for QT use only. I moved the fants to my 120g after getting out of Robertus and NAIB Sips (don't get me started on a rant about how ridiculous our hobby is on managing tincs). The 120 is pretty cool - 13 fants in there at last count - they just melt away into the nooks and crannies of the tank. They breed nearly continuously, so I have to keep an eye on the deposition pool to fish out tads, otherwise they just grow out in the viv and there's little chance of me actually catching them lol.

Here's the new reduced frog wall:

I custom built the hood - it's one big hood that rests on top of weather stripping across all six vivs. It's running a 20w grow light LED panel and a 5w daylight spot per viv - all wired / soldered into one power line that is controlled by an apple home kit wall switch. I'm using active venting on the hood with three blow holes (80mm fans) with lower and upper door vents on each viv - so I pull a slow air current through the vivs via the hood. One of the cabinets is glowing - I keep my tad trays in there now. The grow light colors look weird in iPhone pics, but they don't look that R/B in person. Anyhow, the plants have done better under that spectrum, so I pivoted away from mostly daylight Jungle Dawns as they were burning out. The grow panels are $20 a pop, and the daylight bulbs are cheap. I currently have about 150W total of lighting across those 6 vivs. I may add more spots over time - I'm just seeing how I like it for now.

A couple of thumbnail shots:

One of my favorites, D parvula, an epiphytic fern. I started with a little 2"x2" patch and it took years to take hold, but now it's pretty well established in the original viv and I have been transplanting. It has actually gown to cover the main trunk and all the walls in the viv. Here's a shot of the viv with the main trunk (about 18 inches tall) - the fuzzy stuff is the fern:

And a close up of the larger fronds:

Lots of big thunderstorms have been rolling through here this spring so starting to get tads in the water and two Lorenzo clutches in the cabinet. We'll see how things go. I finally have two more Lorenzo males that grew out, I lost my original male last year, so I've been waiting for a few froglets to grow out to pair with the female (I have another pair that are producing, so I was waiting for a male from them). Given the Holland 2016 sirensis import, I'm thinking of dropping back from 2 vivs of sirensis to 1 (they do better for me in larger groups anyway) so I can expand the Lorenzo footprint again.

So that's it. Nothing super fancy here - just maintaining focus on a smaller set of animals that fit my available time.

Good stuff Jim and welcome back/home !

Glad to see you are still at it - where are the sylvatica pics?

Are you somewhere where you can have horned lizards free range?

Sylvatica catastrophe way back. They were not putting on weight, not eating well, tried to treat them, and best I can tell I got the Ivermectin dosage wrong and I lost the three. I was gutted. I just renewed my focus on what I currently have. I am not sure why I had so much trouble with them. We don't have horned lizards. Your favorite greens are everywhere (especially this time of year) and our favorites are the texas spiny lizards. My kid has a big 36-36-18 viv that he keeps his local WC lizards in for a few months at a time learning how to feed and manage them (he wants something tougher, like a GTP or Green Tree Monitor so we're taking a year to try managing easier stuff, tong feeding, supplements, varied diet). Here are a few residents we had over the winter.

It’s a new set of LEDs I am working with. I have been using grow lamp panels on my big viv and the plants love it. I have to get the balance right on the daylight lamps I use to offset the red. Right now I’m using one daylight lamp per viv. I may add two more. Here’s the new lighting per viv:

I started wiring my own hoods and this setup averages under $40 a viv. Now that the transformer is in place I can add daylight bulbs as needed for the cost of the bulb and socket.

For some reason the pictures look more red on my phone than in person. Anyhow I’ll get to adding a few more lamps after I rebuild a few vivs.

I see unlimited attachment sizes now Smile

Here’s partly why I moved to grow lights Phil - my bromeliads love them:

These three went from green to bright red in a few days. Note the pup coming up in the lower left. All three were that pup color before the shift to grow lamps. I pulled some additional sockets to solder up today so I can add more daylight spectrum though. I’ll get it right eventually.

Lol it is also something weird with the iPhone camera. It’s shifting even further red for some reason. Caught these two tonight:

Yeah second one we found in a year. Relocated this one to the greenbelt. Last house was patchnoses, rat snakes and a rattler. This house - rat snakes and copperheads.

More sirensis - moved some animals around so they are more active. Hopefully will get some clutches soon.

Here are details on my hood setup. I have one hood spanning six 18x18x24 vivs. I custom wired the LED lamps and I have three 80mm computer fans that exhaust air from the hood. I have weatherstripping running the perimeter of the hood - this seals the hood and allows me to pull air through the vents in my vivs.

Here’s the hood with lamps on and off. The three exhaust fans line up over pairs of vivs - so one fan exhausts two vivs.

The glass remains clear during the day:

Here’s a closeup of one viv:

And one of the six still has some condensation - the fern interferes a bit with airflow:

Here’s a closeup of the weatherstripping. I use strips on the hood and front of the viv. I also use a foam strip between the vivs and seal up any gaps with small bits of foam:

Here’s a shot of one of the blowholes:

And a shot of the strip vent along the top of the viv above the front door. It’s about 1/2 an inch wide and runs the full length of the viv:
