Here's one for you, Stu. My female Alanis tinc was transporting tads yesterday. Two of them. That's a first for me! They were gone before I could get a shot though.

Stu&Shaz Wrote:She knew what she was doing, Stu. Like you say, if it was an irritant she would have knocked it off. She transported them and waited for them to get off, with my big head 6 inches from her face! That says it all in my mind... :wink:frogfreak Wrote:After you posted this, I thought for sure there would be more eggs. Hey mate,I posted a reply last night but probably didn't do something right again, sorry kiddo.
Glenn the consensus was when it happened here that it was accidental,ie the tads got on her back be mistake whilst she was laying,my guts, my observations said otherwise she seemed to know exactly what she was doing and where she wanted to off load, said tads. so I wonder if your case adds weight to that.........well you said go figure
No doubt one could argue co-incidence,an irritant the female must remove, but any other irritant (ff springtail etc) the frog removes with a limb often the hind limb....why not the same with her tadpole
sorted... female knows what she's up to,but lets her fella do all the work unless she wants to claim equal rights or some such
what's new huh?
