new here as well. Real name Greg. I have been in the saltwater hobby for over 10 years and am currently doing online sales of corals and fish and in the process of opening a retail store in the town I live in. I have a 400 gallon in wall reef (that is being torn down in a couple of weeks cause I am buying a new house)
I have been really interested in darts for a couple of years now and with the new house I am doing a viv in my new office. GLAD TO BE HERE (I found this place from FANTASYREEF.COM)

My name is Antonio but I go by Kiki.
I live in NC so if anyone else here does let me know if you know of any good shops for dart frogs. I like just being able to stare into tanks and view "mini nature" without have t o go anywhere. I currently have a reef tank which has been running for a little over a year. I've kept pretty much any kind of animal you can think of including lizards, rabbits, hamsters, dogs, cats, birds, and many more. Im 18 and plan on joining the Navy in the next year as a Navy Diver, hopefully with the EOD unit in San Diego to work with their dolphins.

Any advice on dart frogs is welcome as I slowly start setting up my vivarium.

I can't believe I missed this post...I would have formally introduced myself a long time ago.
My name is Candy Lovejoy in Canton, GA...a suburb of Atlanta. I am 37, married with no children. I have 2 cats, 2 dogs, a salt water fish only tank, a freshwater discus community tank, 4 frog tanks (azureus, cobalts, Leucs, vents) and have another tank on order that should arrive on Thursday to house orange terribilis (that I am trying to order now). I had a 2 tank limit set by my husband but a few back massages later, I have stretched that limit to 5 plus a future fish/frog room.

My other hobbies are SCUBA diving, snow skiing, and all the girly crafty things. We live on a lake that we take weekend walks to with the dogs. We take the canoe out on the lake with the dogs now and then. My husband is going to be building kayaks in the near future so we will be adding one more hobby to the list.

I used to live in Jax, Fl and took many long walks along the beach. Nothing better than the beautiful sight of a deeply tanned, half dressed, trim man in red shorts walking down the beach with his floatie life saving thing. It was especially beautiful at shift change when the entire truck of them came by. God I miss Jax!!

My name is Paul Amrein, married no kids live in a suburb of St. Louis MO. I'm a children's book illustrator and a printer. I work on the weekends at a saltwater LFS. My wife is an "anything tropical" kind of gal and we keep a saltwater reef aquarium, and a blue and gold macaw. One trend I have seen on this forum is that a lot of people keep saltwater tanks too. Which makes sense considering it's brightly colored animals in an environment that requires light to grow fauna. I am on reefcentral.com all the time as well, and the forums seem to be similar in that people seem to be wanting an idea and not being able to produce it in reality so they ask and ask until they get the answer they want. Not saying that with any point, it's just both sites have the same forums ie beautiful creatures that don't mix well with others or can't be held in the size of the environment provided. I don't fault those people to want it mind you, I would love to have 8 different frogs in a small enclosure for easy viewing as much as I want 30 fish in one tank that won't kill each other or eat my corals or die from the conditions.
Which is why I plan on doing all of my research before I get my frogs so I don't have to frantically come on here asking questions about what to do to save the frog(s) from dyeing. My plan (explained in detail on the newbie forum) is to have the viv running for quite a while before I introduce frogs. I am planning on atleast a year from now till getting the frogs in which time I'll have a stable environment and time and research under my belt.
looking forward to meeting all.
Paul

Darts with parasites are analogous to mixed tanks, there are no known benefits to the frogs with either.

Hi all,

The name is Mike Smith - I know, I know - it sounds fake, but it's not! I'm Canadian, born and raised in Southern Ontario and transplanted to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2006. I'm going to be 27 at the end of June.

By day, I'm into audio/video. I work as a Rentals Manager for an A/V company. I hold two diplomas, one in Audio Engineering and Music Production from Harbourside Institute of Technology and one in Multimedia Design and Production from Humber College.

By night, I'm into seeing live bands, working as a mixer/music producer, caring for my frogs (1.1 azureus and 0.0.4 75% orange galacts), planning my trip to Peru and hanging out with my friends/girlfriend.

I also post on DB and Canadart.org as afterdark. I'm looking forward to joining the discussion here on The Den!

Hey all!

My name is Ross Stogryn. I'm 29, and like Mike (aka afterdark) I'm Canadian, however I am born, raised and I currently reside in Vancouver, BC.

I'm a full time 4th year psychology student at Simon Fraser University (nope I'm not reading your thoughts right now *grin*) with many more years to go. I've got way too may hobbies to list but a few would include music, photography, anything outdoors-related and vivarium building.

I'm not so new to the hobby and I also post on Canadart.org and Dendroboard under the same username. I currently breed Azureus and Tarapoto imitators (Mark Pepper's line). Anyways, there's me in a nutshell! Glad to be here and I'm looking forward to posting a lot more in the future! Smile

Cheers,

Ross.
