Those damn line bred Lemon Drops are bad enough
Yes , Stew's line of lemon drops and sky blues are bad enough, to say the least.
And one more little tidbit, there are a number of 'locales' that have in the past been reported to come right along the borders, borders of Brazil and other countries. These supposed locales are not actually right along and trickling into countries like French Guyana or Surinam , rather they exist right in Brazil, a country that has no wish to export and infant has never ever legally exported for commercial sales...
What I am trying to say is that the frequency of a lot of supposed non-Brazil morphs have been exaggerated and thus the closeness of some of these populations has been lied about.
That is why you can't figure it out. It is hard to figure out actual locale points. So many frogs come from Suriname because that is where they crossed out of Brazil.
In another thread I commented that the legality of the frogs in the hobby was a gray area and this is a partial reason. Frogs were legally imported into the US. However, many were never legally exported from their CoO.
..just saw a VERY depressing 'selling my ''''Collection'''' advertisement.

Getting out of the hobby

Can't take care of them

Want them to go to a good home

about 17 crossbred Leucs/auratus and Tincs.

Kudos for the honesty in the advert but THIS is the horror story for the hobby. The 'injection' of crossed animals. Let's hope BEYOND HOPE that they all go to ONE person who will not let them out /into the hobby. What a nightmare.
I'm trying to negotiate a reasonable price for these "frogs" so I can euthanize them.
Kewl, what do you see as a reasonable price? i might have to start crossbreedingSmile
My offer would be...$25.00 for all of them.

Seriously. AND the owner / 'hobbyist' should JUMP at that offer as part of making things right and not polluting the hobby.
He should just do the right thing and euthanize himself. He was saying he doesn't have the time for them.

So I guess he's done with them then.Bottom line if he doesn't "have time for them anymore" then he should do the responsible thing to make sure they don't go to the wrong people, like flippers or want to be breeders or even worse, newbs that don't know any better until it's too late!.

Whoa there!!!! Id much take in hybrids and at least do the most i can with them and let them be. Like i guess no elementary or middleschools exist in your neck of the woods when you could actually be more helpful to the animals and society by donating them and letting them be exhibited for what they are? Euthinize them... Plz

No, you whoa there!!! You have no problem repeatedly getting large shipments of wild caught that come in with heavy mortality just to keep trying to get the frogs you want.

Your wants result in many many deaths and you have the nerve to say "do something helpful to the animals and society".
Need to remind you about how small of a population your "dream" frogs come from? Please...

Now back on topic.

Go to hell. Im not even wasting a breathe on you hatorade....i do not give a shit on what you have to say about my large shipments and my dream frogs...this is a thread about hybrids and i gave my opinion pertaining to this topic. Now if you have an axe to grind...still...I have repeatedly asked you to come out of your hole and talk to me face to face as I tend to absorb whats being said to me in person...and yes! Back to topic!

Just before i go...you have a problem with someone buying large shipments to obtain his dream frogs and flipping the shit out if them and helping to damage populations....hus username is sports doc...not me...
I have no problem with your opinion.

I have a problem with the holier than thou statement.

You preach, I'll call you out. You don't, I say nothing.
Quite simple really.

I say cull the herd. There is enough taint in this hobby already. I see DFW snagging these up and putting a ™ next to them.

PS. I call him out a year ago...or did you forget?
Look casper...im going to lay this out plain and simple. I disagree with shutting down something with life simply because a few of us in this hobby frown upon it and I felt there are options other than euthanizing them...we play god hybridizing these animals when we do? But were not playing god taking their lives whenever we feel like it just to please the mindset of a small hobby. I have actually taken quite a few hybrids from local froggers and set up with a few schools and help them display them to students.

I meant no pun with my response. Now as for my "large" collection...well heres what its consits of. A pair each of escudo, saltcreek, colubre and almirante. And boy am I enjoying the hobby so much more now that this is all i have to care and worry for. Seriously man. Im done with the back n forths...but just dont attack me for simply not agreeing with termination of life just to prove a point.
I feel sorry for the animals. I would try to not euthanize them IF that could be done - placed with someone. But we all know the likelihood of a good ending here. Sad.It's not the frogs' fault.
I agree put them down, as hard as it may be to do it, its just not worth the risk to the hobby to keep them around.
I think this is a thread of its own to be started phil..." Hybrid=automatic death?" :-)
I dont condone the practice, but i get second thoughts before stomping on a roach when i see one in my house.... Undecided
